popcorn crunches, world series din, wind outside, dog barking, crickets, my neighbors shouting at the game, some dude inarticulately describing the strike zone, and purple haze in my head.

The new James album, Hey Ma.

Very happy. Love these guys, sorry I couldn't make their show in Chicago in September. Tim Booth's voice just pulls at one.particular.string in my soul. I also like that he can write meaningful lyrics without being too political (although Hey Ma comes close), or too preachy, or too sentimental (although Waterfall comes close).

[nostalgia]I spent the summer of 1994 living in Manchester, gathering archival data for a research project, and I will always attach their album Laid to my endless walks through the city, along the old canals, around the old cotton spinning factories, through the nearby countryside in Cheshire ... [/nostalgia]

Anyway, if you've ever liked James, this new album is well worth a listen.

What are you listening to

Wave 105. Best radio station for the South of England.

Sunday night 6pm til 10pm they play "A kick up the eighties". Loads of 80's music so a trip back to schooldays.

Bottle of chardonnay after a nice walk on the beach with the dogs. Rain finally stopped. Big jacket spud in the oven for tea. Perfect Sunday night!

....hmmm...a certain NEW Bongo tune. (I hate when I say "me" in the third person).

Daniel Lanois - Acadie Goldtop edition (with old demo's)

Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks.

DVD - Dave Mathews and Tim Renyolds

I really need to buy a Dave Mathews CD...which one ? maybe the soundtrack to this Radio City DVD ?

Cheers.
