THE POLICE Official Photo 2007-Gio you should post it here!
Told ya in other post. Lotta Photoshop... specially in the foreheads (there´s no lines almost) and the cheeks. Plus a lot of make-up.
Well unless Andy has had a face lift that is definitely retouched and I should know - I spend half my working life retouching photos of 'seniors'! But hey, whatever makes them happy is cool with me. And Stew totally looks the least pretentious (and coolest as a result). Don't even let me start on Stingo and that macho-school-sports-team-photo-pose. Honestly.

Maybe we should stop talking about this. I wouldn't want them to be like, "Oh they think we look old? Well screw this..." And walk away.

That would be the equivalent of Revelations.

Yeah, you're right. How they look now has absolutely no bearing on our excitement about the reunion. It is interesting to see the publicity machine grinding into motion though and interesting that the PR people think they NEED to retouch the photos. They didn't need to do it for us. I think if they hadn't retouched it we wouldn't be talking about it in the same way to be honest.

HAAAAAAAAAA! Heee hee heeeee! I'll have you know I just coughed coffee all over myself, Steven...

I'm fairly sure it's industry practice to retouch celeb photos. Heck, I wish I could make my hub do it - he's is a gigantic photography buff and I'm not very photogenic. I have managed to make him delete a few of the more hideous ones.

(I'm a fairly dab hand at retouching myself, but mostly I take photos underwater and of wildlife, so the issues are a little different...)

It's best not to have that skill - it's a terrible temptation. I've got a nasty habit of retouching out my own wrinkles... It goes against all my principles but vanity gets the better of me. I make myself tell people though, as penance!

That made me laugh big time.

To think, if that could happen, the Police would have kept going! Haha. No problems amongst eachother.

I dunno about that, blue. I often fear I'm my own worst enemy, although I don't automatically think that of Stew.

It's really hard to light things underwater (because oftentimes you're holding a bulky camera housing, while the current is pulling you away or upside down...also, water is much denser than air, and needs more light to illuminate a subject, so you wind up having to coordinate a strobe)...Also, light levels can change dramatically by ascending or descending a few feet. So I do a lot of work on contrast and color saturation.

Believe it or not, my avatar photo needed no retouching at all. Consequently I can't stand the tosser who took it. ;)

Since H.A.F. 2003 they looks similar... I don't know if they will decide to dry their heads blond again for the Grammy Awards and World Tour...but the entire planet know them are the Blond trio, so you need to think about it...but if it not happen won't be a betrayal to their past image or trade mark appeal...their sound is the POLICE unique sound style...

By the way, for Tv is common to stars will have a make up session, plus appropiate light positions to the stage really soft the lines of age...

Andy looks very well for his age... and I think he lost some pounds...

Eating healthy food is better than junk food plus a moderate exercise routine will give you a great image... don't forgive it!

Perhaps I shouldn't butt in but I also work in Photoshop for a living and I can tell you that the images have been retouched very little. I think they look fantastic!

If you look closely at the high resolution images you can see that the skin isn't that smooth:

Stewart, Sting and Andy look great. Let's be nice to them!

HA HA HA HA HA, omg, that is priceless! Thanks for my laugh of the day!

And of course it's photoshopped to some extent. There isn't an entertainment industry photo or advertisement out there that isn't these days. But it's not nearly as heavy-handed or overdone as many that I've seen, so who's gonna complain about that? It's the smiles that speak volumes to me, not the wrinkles (or computerized lack thereof).

Let them retouch it all they want. I don't care as long as it is an official Police 2007 Photo!

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but if you look at the properties of the original image file, the title says "The Police (Stewart Copeland, Sting & Henry Padovani)

You would think one of the more sought after Rock & Roll photographers would get the names of his clients right if he wants return business!

There are some more pics (only Sting) at his site.
