The Last Goodbye - EQ's Perspective

Stewart really made this happen, getting us in there, keeping us together the best he could. What a cool guy.

The awesome Nutters are the other huge.. HUGE! part of this like you said. I'm glad you wrote it so well. Amazing people all.

I hope we are standing at a rail like that again EQ, with the chariot, or a different color chariot for some new Copelandia endeavor. If I save some money and survive this year...heh...totally Fucking worth spreading yourself so thin that light shines through your rib-cage and your wallet, that's empty except for a wicked ticket stub.

Who needs money, I got a krinkled paper flag...
Amen to all of that, BB!!!!

EQ... what a tale. Ya make me all tingly.

It's all true. Like we've been through a war together and came out victorious, but with a few casualties. I hope we can do it all again on another adventure. The Nutters have quite a history together now. 8)

I leave you with this:

Who needs money, I got a krinkled paper flag, I got a blurry pic of me in front of the chariot (I love it!), and I got pals here that understand my endless dreaming and rough tunes, I got a CD of the 1981 Melbourne gig, and DVD's are incoming...

Don't you just love this guy? 8)

And PR: that's a beautiful photo. Something to frame!

Thank you thank you thank you for that pic!!!! :D

Too bad you are not in it (though you couldn't cuz you're taking it).

I remember this well. I had just seen Andy at the book signing, and this was my first EVER Nutter contact in person. :D :D I think this was the moment I officially became a Nutter.

ETA I like how it almost looks like I have a twinkle in my eye.

More pics:

Here's my quest to get my pic taken during the show:

Take 1: Pecos' first attempt. My camera sucks and you only see my sillouette, but you see Andy ok:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N ... 1/sizes/l/

Take 2: Camera setting is changed but douchebag in Pit purposely screws up the picture so you only see DAO's backpack:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N ... 9/sizes/l/

Take 3: With BongoBoy staring down/ blocking Mr. Pit Shithead, Pecos gets another pic but my crappy camera gets me out of focus (and me looking like a psycho) and the background dark:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N ... 3/sizes/l/

You've all seen versions of this pic elsewhere, but what the heck. The Nutters at the Tick Tock Diner. Somehow, the Wookie manages to not be in the picture. CopelandGirl5 is changing in the bathroom:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N ... 1/sizes/l/

The line for the Pit after Dietmar had been waiting for about 2 1/2 hours already. Note the sign. As it turns out, this was actually NOT the right entrance for GA tickets:

I have another version that is a better close up but I prefer this one better cuz Bongo Boy is flashing his gang signs in this one.

Thanks EQ,Cool.

We look so darn happy it's annoying me.

Can I just go back and hang out around MSG for no reason ?

Good times.

Ever see the Kids in the Hall movie Brain Candy? In the movie, they invent a super antidepressant. Keeps your brain at 72 degrees at all times. Anyway, the way it works is that it finds your happiest moment and freezes that moment in your mind.

Recently, my Brain Candy has been listening to the Last Goodbye DVD that was uploaded to Dime by Pluto, especially ELTSDIM. If this makes any sense, I get a little sad, but overall, I get less depressed.

Hello EQ! What a great stories!
How can I explain my feelings in words!! My English sucks!!
I love this part...
Pt 26

So the final show was AWESOME but what the final show experience really did was make me appreciate all the Nutters (whether they were able to make it to NY or not). Before tourzilla, I truly felt alone, like I did right upon returning to Vegas from MSG. But after meeting all the nutters in person and the explosion of posts after the final show, I felt like the castaway in MIAB walking on the beach finding a hundred billion bottles. I am not alone, and am happy to be a nutter. :D
When the final show went on, I was especially moved to see that you folks all over the place put up THANK YOU signs to Stewart and Police.
I sincerely felt you folks and Stewart sympathize and respond with each other! This experience made the final show something special for me.

Sorry, possibly I’ve misunderstood about your writings because of my poor English.
I really cheered up by your encouraging/beautiful stories. “I’m not alone.” Thanks. :D :D

You change avatar.

Aw, yay. Any chance you'll share the alternative, non-gang-sign version, EQ? (Now I'm curious.)

(Getting a photo in front of the stage can be really hard! I have a shot of you in SLC on my camera, EQ, but it just doesn't work on its own -- it's got the same silhouette problem. At some point I need to ask Mo if he can use his photoshoppy magic to make it better.)
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

You can fiddle with an option called "lighting effects" to add something called "fill flash," DM. Have Moe email me if he wants more info, although something tells me he's more than capable.

If this makes any sense, I get a little sad, but overall, I get less depressed.

Yeah. Cause a.) even though it's over, b.) there are souvenirs of the fact that somewhere in the universe, at that very place and time? You were at the last Police concert. With a bunch of people who Get It.
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!

As requested by Kel, here is the alternate version of the early pit line (no gang signs):

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N ... 5/sizes/l/

(you can tell its early in the day cuz this is one of the very few pics from MSG where my hair is actually combed)

While I'm at it, why not a few more? Here's me with Conroy hiding behind the blonde Sockii, Vespapod, and a guy whose name I did not get. I think he won a pit ticket in an auction:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N ... 1/sizes/l/

A similar picture to this next one has been posted like a billion times, but I don't care. I like it, so here's a billion and one:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N ... 3/sizes/l/

(by the way, I like how Dive stands so you can see my tube socks)
:)

Kind of blurry, but I love this one. Common first time flag bearer problem- you have to hold it up but NOT block your own view:

Sting feeling his face after the shave, but I really like how Stewart looks in this pic:

I noticed that guy in the Pit from Section 119. He was rocking pretty hard. For you Toronto folks, he reminded me a bit of that crazy Raptor fan with the purple turban. But if it was him, he'd have had the foresight to wear a turban in Synch colours.

I LOOOOOVE that picture even after seeing it a billion and one times. There are Nutters from literally all over the world in that shot and you all look so happy together. There are a few people I've talked to about this who actually think it is cool. They tend to be most blown away by the cosmopolitan nature of the MSG gathering followed closely by Stewart's far reaching generosity.

Kind of blurry, but I love this one. Common first time flag bearer problem- you have to hold it up but NOT block your own view:
