Yo, musiciany-type SC.netters -- what news?

[quote="BongoBoy"](PS. I don't want a Flag for real until I have earned it)

A Flag is a sacred cloth.
tee,hee.

You know, Stewart never asked or sought out a flag either. His loyal fans took it upon themselves....you know the rest! Don't be surprised if one day, some crazy people start showing up at your gigs with flags... :D

Thought i would join in on this one, my band's called Dreamhead and we are a 4 piece. Main influences would be The Jam, The Police, Oasis and The Who.

We got some new videos uploaded from a rehersal session a few days ago, the talking and the pissing about at the start is just what we get up to and some personal jokes in there & some actual playing

Excuse the mistakes and the slighty tinny guitar sound as the amp was crap
Watch some videos here: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... d72e7628c2

& Have a listen here: www.myspace.com/dreamheadmusic

cheers :)

Played my first gig in over 3 years last weekend. A buddy from college called me up needing a drummer that night. I had about 3 hours to learn 3 sets of covers and originals. Wound up winging most of it, but had a great time and I think they liked me. Drove home at 3 AM underneath a beatiful sky complete with full moon. Life is good.

Secret Journey- great stuff, I love the behind the scenes at rehearsals!

Zilboy- congrats! I hope to be there one day again myself.

And for BBoyeeee- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R18St81pAZ8

There's two RUSH songs at the end- one of which you'll have to guess what I started playing before I remembered what you wanted was The Trees!

Resurrecting this thread with some news that's just too delicious not to share...

Mr. Schmaff (tenor) and I (piano) just got hired to be the entertainment for...

Wait for it........

The St. Joan of Arc Annual Spaghetti Dinner!!!

We'll be doing all Italian music (obviously). Those familiar with the G. Schirmer vocal library will appreciate the fact that half of the set will be pulled from that famous tome known as the "Double Dozen Dago Ditties" (or "24 Italian Art Songs and Arias", for the less offensive among you).

This may just be the strangest gig I've ever had...

We just played a show last week for a bunch of Japanese exchange students visiting Canada. We got hired because the Japanese love the Police and we play the Police, so there you go. We played a mix of Police stuff and our own stuff and it went really really well!!

Still writing lots of songs, a new recording session is expected soon, and we've been playing a lot of metal music. I'm listening to more Tool and Primus than I used to... :P

Anyway, in case you haven't already seen it: www.myspace.com/theobjectwar
