Awesome!!!

Of course, they got the cymbals wrong. Where are the RUDES?

They brought back the Midnight Blue finish for their new IMPERIALSTAR drums, but it's just not the same. Remember that wierd "Zolacoat" stuff on the inside?

Premier has a Keith Moon tribute kit, so Tama had better get busy!

yeah i remember that, that cymbal set up looks either like a generic copeland set-up from the police days or maybe a studo set up as i think that is a 602 crash which he used in the studio. I herd that he only used his rudes on stage but on the police in monseratte docu stewart had a kit with rudes

Yeah and they were larger as well - 18" crashes and a 24" ride! Makes you wonder how he got by with a bunch of 16" and that little bitty 14" on stage.

According to an old Downbeat interview, he also sometimes used a 602 or 2002 heavy ride, but I never saw them in photos.

Remember the Colorsounds he used for the Amnesty gigs? :)

yeah ..i really think they should make a replica kit to be available to us mortals.....what do you think stewart???

Maybe we should start a campaign...or have i done already?

The premier keith moon kit is awsome...i am lucky enough to own one.

Surely the black kit is the classic one ?

do you mean the black tama superstar as i think this was the one he used during the synchronicity concert, as for the next classic kit it has to be the tama imperial star midnight blue in the regatta era. Maybe first start a poll on peoples favourite kit as far as i know he used:
Imperialstar Midnight Blue
Black Superstar
Sliver/Gun Metal Tama, not sure which type, I believe its an imperialstar
Coffee Brown Tama for the Zenyatta recording and period and not sure if this was the same tama from the roxanne red video and I think it had the a black tama in the video aswell.

thanks for the info guys......

I always thought he just used imperial stars but this doesnt seem to be the case.

I thought he more or less used the same kit ( at least on stage) from
1980 onwards....is this right?

If anybody has any info about his drums/ equipment from the police era i always find it fascinating ( due to my being totally obsessed when i was a child haha)

thanks

Black Superstar kit? This is news to me. I'm fairly certain he used the Midnight Blue Imperialstars from the Ghost album through the Synchronicity tour. They sure looked blue to me.

In the 90's he used an Artstar kit that was either black or very dark green. When I saw him with The Rhythmatists in '94, it looked kind of emerald green when the lights would shine on it.

I know he used the coffee brown like kit which zenyatta was recorded for some of the tour if not all of the zenyatta tour, as in everyone stares he was using this at the bullring. But yes up till the 1980's im most definatly sure he used the midnight blue imperialstar

im pretty sure it was a black superstar as I remember heading something in and old modern drummer or rythm magazine on SC,http://www.infinitedensity.net/music/copeland/ this link has various magazine features on the man himself. I know he was using a black tama in the TOTP appearance of every breath you take.

Ok, we're all a bit looney, but hey - drummers love to talk about gear, correct?

I never saw the TOTP "Every Breath" performance. That kit may very well have been black if it was a rental or a spare. I remember he had the silver kit for the Kenny Everett Show and "Wrapped Around Your Finger" videos.

The Man has way too many kits - more than should be allowed by law...
