ugly money !!

ugly money !!

Postby howardhughes on 06 Feb 2007 14:00

Seems to be an awfull lot of talk about how expensive things will be.

I cant tell you how much i love the police but id be sooooo much more proud and happy to fork out what is likely to be considerable amounts of cash ( at least in my world) if if i knew it was for charity.

i seem to recall SC himself saying that the police should reform and tour to 'put it to bed' and 'to build some hospitals'

I am more than happy that SC is a very wealthy man.

Would it not be something we can all be very very proud of if this tour broke the mould and was for charity....i would then have no problem seeing three dots on a stage in a stadium for god knows how much £££.

call me a naive fool who doesnt understand the modern world but correct me if im wrong the police are a band of such stature and pulling power in the music biz they are just the people to pull something incredible, groundbreaking and benevolent off.

At the moment it seems to all be going a bit rolling stones...which in my view is not a good thing......will we be talking £50 t shirts, £10 badges....i think so!

or maybe im wrong and they really do need the money........only joking!

This post makes it all the more better that it comes from howard freakin hughes.

love the name, I was obsessed with his history for awhile, then came The Aviator and I was even more obsessed. He's interesting, to say the least.

I agree, in that case I'd be ready to pay much more!

Seriously? They should pay me this amount to wear a Rolling Stones T shirt! LOL!

[EDIT] Just wanted to add: the Rolling Stones were a great band, but for many years they just tour for money and I don't see where is their creativity by now. In a sense, we're lucky The Police didn't turn this way.

hmm...yeah...i was real worried it would sound like a dreadfull dis on the guys.

I just think there is a real opportunity for us via the police or the police via us to do some real real good AND watch our fave band for maybe the last time.

I dont wanna lump them in with the likes of the stones etc but i gather it is the stones promoter who is involved..hence.

I can just see dollar signs rolling around unsavoury peoples eyes.

I think Stew is the man and have done since i was about six.

Just think there is an opportunity here for an additional legacy for the police.

(i agree, i would have to be paid to wear a stones t shirt......shudder)

It would not bother me at all if they keep the money, they deserve it.

You know what - this is an inappropriate discussion. Money is a private matter and - with all due respect - none of your business.

In fact I think it´s cool if they make fortune. It´s another proof that they are in the "premier league".

Have a great day, folks!

Yeah, I agree with you Willy and on this statement you are telling an absolute true:

Anyway, by now, no tour is confirmed... 8)

maybe you are right and it is innapropriate to discuss the money and maybe it is none of my business. if i cause offence i apologise.

but then again maybe i am right and it should be for charity......i just reckon if i had squillions of pounds....and knew i could get access to squillions more....from say a hugely lucrative tour or something....i would think....whats the best thing i can do with this money ?....i probably think maybe it should go to some desperately poor kid in africa who has to rifle through a rubbish tip to find rats to eat each day.

as for 'deserving the money'....lets get things in perspective.....the police are 3 guys who made some great songs who i will love respect and admire till the day i drop dead. but they are JUST A BAND..a a great one..of course...but just a band....a pop group from the 80's.
but how many squillions of pounds does one person need...i would suggest not that many.

what a strange world we live in eh? one world not three ..were all on the same big boat.....and so on.

tis i crazy world......ill shut my gob eh? and we can all get on daydreaming about how great we wish this reunion will be.....no doubt stewart wont disapoint us..lets hope sting is kept in check.

The charity thing was just an idea guys.....silly me eh?
