Tour News today?

Last Wednesday Gio had posted that we needed to wait 'a little more than a week' for some news/announcements, and Dive I think let us know that today is the announcement of the Bonaroo lineup...so are we expecting some big news today?

Bonnaroo got pushed back to the 14th, for some reason...so maybe the tour announcement will be after the Grammy appearance, which was probably the news for today.

It *is* exciting to contemplate buying tix to see the guys, no? I've already checked all my frequent flier balances...

I don't think there will be any public announcement of tour dates until after The Grammy's.

This is too close for no tour. Even a festival headlining spot here and there would be fitting.

Wombat, that was easy to understand.... maybe the announcement will arrive before the Grammy's but not in a 'public' way....I said MAYBE...don't get me for granted on such a news...

You know, I'm just imagining what's going on behind the scenes. Various agents, record labels and promoters trying to work out a timetable on all this stuff.

No worries, Gio. We understand you'll tell us what you can, when you can. I'm sure there's a lot of pressure on everyone to get all the logistics together without having things come out in the press, which sometimes does influence which things are possible.

Could very well be that the details and such are being finalized. If they came out now and said yes, there is going to be a tour, you'd have mass hysteria from the press and the fanbase demanding details. Until those are ready I cant imagine that there would be any announcement.

What I keep going back to in my mind was Stewart's nod-and-wink to us a few weeks ago when he said "Hope you all have a great 2007. I know I will."

If that ain't a big enough clue, I don't know what would be...

Well I am off to my band practice, still trying to convince our singer that, yes, he can sing in a register high enough so we can cover a few Police tunes.

Well, and they have to line all the gigs up before they can make an announcement of which cities they're playing, presumably. You better believe that isn't going to happen overnight.

MJ, you know Miles C. has an open call for Police cover bands over at Backstage, right? I dunno if it's Police-songs-only cover bands, but may be worth a look.

One of germanys biggest ticket services - Eventim - has now listed "The Police" in their "Ticket Alarm"-category, for tours which are planned, but not yet finally scheduled!

God, I'm on eggshells all freakin' day and every day. The wait is driving me nuts.

But I'm keeping busy with other news that isn't coming out regarding other bands for now... so everything has me on edge! Haha.

I just want to pounce and buy as many tickets to as many shows and see Stewart!!!!
