THE POLICE song at the Grammy!

Postby Echidna on 01 Feb 2007 04:39

I reckon it will be "Next To You" that will flow into "Roxanne"
"SPARE US THE CUTTER"

I'm still sticking with "Message", but I'm liking the new song theory a lot.

Roxanne into a new live version we never heard before.... a new song... and why not "All this Time"? It sounded more POLICE than Sting and the title says a lot about time passed... don't forget we''ll receive from THE POLICE a great surprise during the Grammy Awards!

Gotta be a medley like Sly Stone last year I reckon. Like they do at the end of The Brits.

If it's just the one tune, then King Of Pain I reckon. Get that xylophone out Stewart!

I think it's got to be a career spanning medley of hits. Granny awards always like things "safe" and commercial viable.
Here are my thoughts on what would be in the medley:

Roxanne
Message
Don't stand so close to me
Every Little thing.....
Every Breath
Synchronicity II

However, I'd like to see them tear the roof off the place with the following songs. They'll reduce the likes of Justin Timberloser and Carrie Overwood to a heaping pile of sugar coated pop-crap.

Landlord
Truth hits everybody
It's alright for you
On any other day
No time this time
Driven To tears
Voices inside my head
When the world is running down.....
Spirits In the material world
Demolition Man
Murder By Numbers

Long time Police fans have been waiting a long time for this moment. While incredibly excited and happy, I would have like to see them choose another venue to play for the first time or do some big publicity stunt like the Stones do when they announce a tour. To me, the Grammy awards "cheapens" the occasion. I understand that this is not 1982 and the music industry has changed (for the worse). The almighty dollar is king. With the pre-show hype, internet buzz, exposure, viewer ship, global press coverage, debuting at the awards show does make $ense for all. You can’t get that kind of “juice” anywhere.
But I WILL watch!
Then turn it off.

Dude, any of those songs would blow the roof off of any place, but same goes for the ones that will probably be played.

February 11th is basically going to be the end of the world. Everyone's heads will explode in awesomeness.

Damn, only 15 more days to truly live before really living! Wow, far out. Haha.

Here's an idea.
Play "Walking on the Moon" and after the 2nd chorus when Sting starts singing e-o begin playing Message in a Bottle which leads us into Sending out an SOS to end the medley.
