The Police Will Kick Off the Grammys (By The New York Times)

Postby bella on 30 Jan 2007 16:12

I know I will pay any price to see them, but I just saw that The Who's ticket prices are "Ticket Prices: $205.00, $100.00, $80.00, $55.00" at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C., so I'm thinking The Police will be in the same range. (sorry that I don't know the conversions)

It's budgeting time. Hope I get a good refund from the I.R.S.

So awesome!

Great that they're the opener, but I'm sure I'll have to keep watching the whole thing anyway...might be a (even small) chance they end up presenting an award as well, no?
What an awesome way to open if they go with with Don't Stand- the theater will be dark, you can't see anything, then all the sudden you hear that low bass note, Andy's little guitar riff, and the Sting suddenly belts "Young Teacher!"
I swear to all the little gods...you just gave me TOTAL goosebumps...

it's really happening!! I think I'm tearing up a little...

I'm going to be on pins and needles until the 14th. I mean, wow, we see them live at the Grammy's, perhaps more news on box sets, and Bonnaroo's festival line up is announced.

To quote my favorite director's film Almost Famous, "It's all happening."

The classic rock station here in NYC Q104.3 just spoke about Times article, now they're playing a 'work force block' (dopey name) of the Police, the obligatory EBYT, but then Dont Stand, Walking on the Moon, and Every Little Thing. I think we'll be hearing a lot of Police on the radio in the days to come...

Strap yourselves in for one hell of a wild ride.

I wonder if an announcement of other things to come will be made there.
