Will Sting mention it when he goes on tour starting 2/18?

They won't sell the tickets the same say a tour is announced. But, I know how you feel.[/quote]

Yeah, these days there have to be multiple "presales" to satisfy this or that corporate sponsor/club/organization, and then regular sales, and then the auction sales for the best seats...I don't think any of us are in danger of missing out entirely unless we fall off the face of the planet for a month or so.

And if you find yourself in a pinch and don't want to pay for scalper tickets, don't forget there are always people who end up with extra tickets at the last minute--someone backs out, they bought more than they needed, etc. I've gotten great tickets to high demand shows that way at even less than face value when people are just desperate to unload at the last minute (how I got to see the Foo Fighters in a small theater in Atlantic City just this summer, in fact...)

Plus, there's also the factor that I have no doubt these tickets will be E.X.P.E.N.S.I.V.E. I won't be surprised at all if they're in the $150-200 range *to start*. And high demand or no, that's still going to keep a lot of "casual" fans away, or at least slow their decision making down until they're really sure they want to lay out the cash for it. I heard that even this weekend talking to some folks at a party: "Wow, The Police?! That would be awesome to see them on tour! Ah, but it's going to be so expensive, I'll just wait for the DVD..."
