Hey, this came up in another thread: Does one have to be registered here to enter? Or can any schmoe with an email address fire away once the question is posted?

Just wonderin'. As I also said in the other thread: I personally have a boatload of faith in Giovanni in general, but who knows what other forces are involved with this...

[Edit: Also, it's been pointed out in another thread that we all were made to buy *pairs* of tickets through the presales, not singles...so if any giveaway is singles-only, it may not be feasible for us to abandon our pair-ticket partners in order to accept a single ticket, even as an upgrade...

Just some $.02.]

I wrote this in another thread, but at the risk of repeating myself, it's more appropriate over here, so I'm going to repeat myself:

Giovanni is always good at giving information when he can. I expect that details will be revealed when Gio is able to reveal them

But generally speaking, my thinking is this: whether we got these tix as a placating offer from Management or not -- whatever. I don't know, I don't care. We've got them, and I'm thinking of them as a gift from Stewart. He can't personalize 'em; the most he can do is hope to please the broadest possible audience. If the tickets offered are not appropriate -- whether because of location, numbers, timing, physical limitations, etc -- then you don't have to accept them. Just like you smile and say "No, thank you" to Grandma when she offers you a piece of pie.

If Stewart's pie just don't cut it for you, then you don't have to eat it. That's your call. But it sure was nice of him to offer.

Talking about Stewart offerring grandma's pie made me think of the image of Hugh Laurie in drag. "Would you like a ticket, dearie?"

Hmmmmm. I make a really good blackberry cobbler (cobbler is like pie, only it has crust on both the bottom and the top.) Will that work? ;)

Dive will make blackberry cobbler and Stewart will make BlackBerry tones. Perfect.

What about cheesecake? Lilrock makes the most AWESOME lemon cheesecake....does that count as a "cake" since its creamy?

And I make fabulous apple crisp.

It just dawned on me. Based on the time frame noted by Gio in his initial post, it looks like the ticket lottery thing is set to be announced on Stewart's birthday. Coincidence? I think not. Appropriate trivia question: what is Stewart's birthday.

ETA Gio just posted in the snake pit thread "Be ready tomorrow." So it really does look like the announcement will be done on Stewart's birthday. Giving us a present on his own birthday. SWEEEEEEEET!!!

If that 'other thing' is a cherry pie (made with in season, rare variety british cherries) with a lattice top. Really rather good).....

But that is all I have to offer I'm afraid ;-)

I may go make one while I'm waiting for you to post a question I won't know the answer to.....
