Hi everyone. I'm sitting at my hotel, trying to fall asleep before my flight in 7 hours. I was gonna wait till I got home, but I miss this place and wanted to give a couple very quick highlights of the gorge before I get into the long detailed version. First off, the show rocked. This could easily be classified as the Stewart Copeland show. He was on fire more than I've ever seen. It's a major understatement to say he owned this one.

But just a couple quick highlights. Sting brought a unitus girl to sing don't stand, I loved it. He also kissed a girl for her 40th birthday. He also got a little carried away with said girl during the solo for So Lonely.... Andy and Stewart made him pay for that, as they extended, AND OWNED that part of the song. If you all want, I'll post some more details late tomorrow, if I'm still alive. Ok, it'll be pages of details of the whole trip which was a riot. But for now, I need to try and get some rest for my flight. I have a big day tomorrow, being that I have to go to both jobs, so it'll be late. Nite all. Oh and another HUGE thank you to Stewart for his own personal ticket giveaway. That man never ceases to amaze me!

Alex, I see you're still on-line. I was just looking at some pix of the Portland show in the links section. The Ghost shirt is back. Not a doily in sight! Woohoo! For those of us with a bit of a shirt fetish (*waves at EQ*), what was Stewart wearing at the Gorge?

A blueish ghost shirt. At least that's what D-A-O said, I'm a bit colorblind. I just wanted to make a quick add to this. It was really awesome to hang with D-A-O and Nikki, hope I spelled that right! I just wanted to thank D-A-O for all his and his family's hospitality. And a major shout out to Nikki and Wayne for buying my ticket. So many funny stories, so little time.

And a morning wave hello to you, EQ. Check out the pictures of Stewart in the Portland review posted by TOWOS in the links section. It looks like the same one described by alex. I now realize it's different from the one I saw in Toronto in November.
But my question is, do you have anymore room in your closet for another shirt?

There is PLENTY of room in my closet, which has spaces specifically reserved for the Tron/Stargate/Doilly shirt, a yellow Mickey Mouse Shirt, the green striped shirt seen in njperry's avatar, this new bluish GITM shirt, and pretty much anything else SC has been seen wearing.

*fuck me; I'm still looking for that fucking Tron shirt*

Missed this post for some reason.

I agree Stewart owned the show. As we were walking out I heard multiple people commenting on it.

Alex didn't agree with me but I thought Stings voice was struggling. He even screwed up one time and seemed really mad or frustrated.

Sounded a bit gravelly on the Alison duet.

Might have been the dry air. I was hoping it was the throat issue coming back with New York approaching.

Alex was a riot to drive with...and I even let him drive for awhile on the way back.

Nikki...thanks again for the ticket purchase! Too bad we couldn't ditch that odd Row 10.

Oh man, where do I start? Oh well, I'll try and entertain you guys as best I can. I hope it's a fun read....

Just going to this show was a major commitment from me. I kept changing my mind about going. One minute was a yes, the next a no. I finally had this cognition that I was an adult, and as an adult I needed to make grown up decisions. After all, I had been to 5 shows so far. Plus I would be missing work and rehearsals just to get there, nevermind the incredible miles that I would log in those four days. It all made sense that I shouldn't go, then it hit me, and hard. I was actually acting like an adult???? That moment did it. I decided I wasn't quite ready to be responsible just yet, so I decided to go. I called D and booked my flight on Wed for Thurs morning. At my day job, I couldn't bear to tell them I was hitting another concert. But I did inform the producers of my show. They were glad I was going and were happy to let me off the rehearsal, especially because I bitch every night about the fool who decided to open it Aug 7th.

Thursday morning I land in Calgary. D has a meeting that I knew about so I take to entertaining myself at the airport. I met and talked to a few very interesting people. As I write this, I'm starting to wonder if D actually has it in for me (I'll need to really think about this one) He doesn't show when I'm talking to some random guy. Nope, he shows up after I've met this gorgeous girl that was working airport security. We were getting along really well and then boom, D-A-O mysteriously appears. So we go and have lunch, he shows me a bit of the downtown, then he has to go back to the office for a bit. I'm left to entertain myself which is really cool because I really enjoyed a bit of time to do whatever I wanted. I basically brought an empty bag because I thought I'd buy what I needed when I got there, including clothes. So I went into the mall and bought a shirt. As I was paying for it, something didn't feel right. That's when I realized Alberta is almost tax free. I proceeded to spend way to much under the pretense that I was actually saving money. When he called me, I was already at our meeting place, terrified of spending more money.

We went to his place and had a great bbq. That's when we started to learn a whole lot about each other. For the record, we are EXACT opposites. He had everything mapped out and a list of everything we needed, I didn't even have a toothbrush. Believe it or not, we make a great combination as I just fly by the seat of my pants, but he has everything under control. So after we go and get the rest of the stuff I need, we watch the Japan concert and call it a night.

I don't want this to be too long so I'll continue in one sec....

funny that you say that hearing people comment as you walked out...both nights i was in front of people going on and on and on about stewarts playing ...Portland - some 18-22 ish young man - "man Stewart is a pioneer, he is the KING of the high hats" and he went on for about five minutes as we were walking (long walk to car)
and at the gorge as we were walking out again ..but an older guy this time..."that drummer man he OWNS the show" (me saying Stewart*cough*Copeland*cough*) and again they proceed to go on and on about Stewart.
