I'm guessing that your avatar image is too big. Check the restrictions on the Profile page and match them up with the dimensions of your avatar.

Those who have had success getting it to work - what webbrowser were you using at the time?

I've tried linking and uploading within the size limits and it won't work for me.

Mine works ok on safari and firefox. Try linking from photobucket, that's where mine is.
