THE POLICE records sold worldwide...?

Postby blueseattle on 14 Jan 2007 08:50

I know... that's why I'm saving so much money for the tix.

My friends think I'm nuts when I tell them I'd sign up for another credit card just for another limit to charge these under... I'm obsessed, what can I say?

LOL!!!
Yes, and you can consider you as very lucky: if the (im)possible tour is limited to UK and North America, some of us will have to save money for both concert and plane tix!
But I can't complain, South of France isn't very far to Britain, it's not like coming from Peru, for example. ;)

I remember reading that too, but it's just another rumour.

Why hasan't anyone else added an icon?

Yeah, they're awesome... would LOVE to see them too. But since we might have a shot for The Police, I'll shut up about that. 2011!

Maybe I'm wrong, and I hope I am, but I think it's what it was said on this U2 forum when the rumour started. Then it was question of a world tour of 80 dates, then 60, then Sting would have said The Police will surely do something in 2007. Just speculation, after all, maybe it's all wrong. Who knows?

I bet the ticket prices will be as expensive (if not more so) than Paul McCartney or The Rolling Stones.

I read an article one time where Bono said he absolutely hated western consumerism. However, I guess he does not hate western consumerism when it comes to his products (ie, concerts, cds, t-shirts etc).

U2 = great musicians.. love their music... but I find them to be a bit hypocritical.

Did anyone ever answer the question that started this thread?

I remember in the mid-80s the media would state that The Police had sold 40 million records, but 15 - 20 years later I would still hear that "40 million" number. Surely, they've sold a few more records in the last 20 years...

That depends on wether they combined the sales of records and cd's. I'm sure they quit making records. lol
