More popular with teens?

More popular with teens?

I think if The Police came back today, I think they'd actually be more popular with teens. I can't tell you how many Police shirts I see on campus here at FSU.

I remember my band playing a show last year and many "scene kids", or whatever you want to call the hipsters today, were wearing Reggatta de Blanc shirts. I talked to them and they were huge fans like me and everyone on here... they were 15.

I think this is a huge opportunity not just for the band to the old established fan base, but for people who are finding the old stuff through the Digipak releases, etc...

I really hope everything goes through, I'm saving at least a thousand bucks toward tickets.

Anyway, I'm new, but I've been reading this message board for awhile now. I'm glad I was finally approved!

The Police is an awesome band, I know a few others my age that like them... but yes it would spread if they were out there more.

Nah we're not really "hipsters", it's not all that 'hip' to like The Police, since most people don't know who they are.

Welcome here!

Yeah also next to my home I heard a band of kids rehearsing with POLICE tunes...and also hearing when they reproduced "Synchronicity Concert" louder... that's remind me days when I played POLICE covers with my brother and cousin... by the way my brother admire Andy and in the best Andy Summers style he played POLICE songs I never heard before around the globe by other guitarists - He studied jazz-blues and classical guitar- and my cousin a super fan of Stewart Copeland that imitate his style very close...

PS: Hey you edited an avatar... so now is possible to put it on the red light???

I linked it from my photoshop account.

Oh I'm not saying people who listen to The Police are hipsters, but the more trendy kids I've noticed have been listening to them a lot lately. I think that's a great thing... but it's something I just noticed.

Also, I think Guitar Hero II has been helping some. I go to Best Buy frequently, hey I'm a CD fanatic, and I hear Message played everytime near the electronics from that game everytime I go.

You know what's different about The Police? They're music dosen't scream 80's. It seems more now, yet not.

It's going go be fuckin' awesome, I was SURE I'd never have a shot, but now we do!

See the good thing about listening to an old band is you get allot more work all at once, you don't have to wait for it to be released. The bad thing is, almost always they've been broken up for years.... no more material, no tours.

Yeah, I can't tell you how excited I was when I first heard the news. The Live Journal group I write in told me about how it was posted on the forums months beforehand. I remember coming to some forums, but I never joined.

I always went about believing I'd never see them live. I even tried to see Sting live, just to get an idea of what it "would have been like", but with this news... I will travel anywhere to see them.

Anywhere.
