FANS BEING SCREWED BY MSG, LIVENATION AND TM

Postby empty on 24 Jun 2008 23:30

OH, and to add insult to injury? The Ticketmaster email blast with the "sorry but we changed your seats on you" message finally came. about 5 minutes AFTER I got off the phone with Jeff.

Unbelievable.

Knowing bad words in multiple languages is a. useful, since it increases the toolbox in times like these and b. interesting, since the valence of each expression has a different sense...<grin>

Thanks for the soundcheck plug, mt. I still can't believe they're not doing some fanclub-only thing to wrap this up, but whatareyagonnado.

Hey Dive,

That's how I make my living, don't forget. I don't know Arabic (or I'd earn a fortune these days), but during my pilgrimages to Holy Places years ago, I learned only the obvious: how to swear.

So I am fluent in 3 languages
Understand passively other 4
Know swearing words in about 10.
OK, you other folks who have called and managed to cancell - did you have to wait for them to call you back later with information on whether your request was "approved" or not?

I just called now and was told I'd have to wait to hear from them "later today...maybe not until tomorrow" to find out if they'll approve the cancellation. Though at least the guy I spoke to admitted "that's a pretty big jump in seats...I should think they'd approve it."

*sigh*

(But anyway, yeah...decided not to fuck around and wait any longer. I need that $400 off my credit card.)
So, Sockii, any luck? I didn't have to wait, they refunded (CS rep got approval from supervisor, while I was on hold) during my phone call last night; however, as of the afternoon the $ credits haven't appeared on my CC yet, TM said it would take 2-3 days...rest assured I'll be keeping tabs on it. I called the TM number in Harrisburg (717-260-2000), so maybe you'd have better results if you tried that number.

And all this other crapola...par for the course...oh, I forgot to mention last night that when I was getting my refund the TM rep said his records showed they tried to call me TWICE about the seat changes... I frigin lost it and told him it was another LIE...I said, now I HAVE CALLED YOU TWICE...

And Meg...you go girl ...as I've mentioned earlier...the only communications I have received from anyone regarding this fiasco has been from TPT -- only reminding me to renew my FC membership....ARGH....(yeah, a soundcheck would be nice!)....

So sorry to hear of the nutters being screwed by TicketMonster.

I was out of reach when they went on sale and a friend got tickets for her and I. She reisted my wishe that we get seat behind the stage but she was wise. Got not great seats somewhere else at MSG. I still need to find out where. So we weren't among the nutters scrwed.

It all reminds me of one my favorite scenes in the Simpsons:
Burns: [chuckles] And to think, Smithers: you laughed when I bought TicketMaster. "Nobody's going to pay a 100% service charge."
Smithers: Well, it's a policy that ensures a healthy mix of the rich and the ignorant, sir.
More like the rich and the screwed.

Good to see you back, nj...How was vacation?

Unfortunately, behind the stage sections weren't the only folks who were moved without their knowledge. My understanding is several of the $89 sections were moved into the rafters so the promoters could increase the cost of their seats (by moving the $189 behind-the-stage level folks into them). You may want to double check that your location wasn't one of them.

Honestly, I'm pretty outraged about it all. Got decent tix myself thanks to a relative who lives in the area, but on top of the THREE announced "last shows", and the poor allotment of seating for legacy fan club members...
It's not going to take a lot more substandard treatment of fans to make me resell my tix and attend JB as the "last show".

Plenty of reasons to be pissed. I don't know why I thought the end of a poorly organized tour would be better than the other parts.

Once again, if ole Miles ran the zoo.........

Alas, we'll never know.

Waiting for Jeff from Ultrastar to call so I can get a refund on one of my seats. After that I'm gonna call PBS to see what VIP package seats are available. Just curious.

I haven't read the last few pages, but I wanted to let you know I was bumped as well, from 318 to 405. I got the tickets and nearly fainted, then checked my e-mail. Yup, they sent an e-mail (probably after the tickets were mailed) that I was bumped from behind the stage to in front of it. No offer of a refund if I was unhappy. I happen to be OK with it because I didn't want to be behind the stage, but I think they should have at least offered a refund. This whole tour has been a huge clusterfuck. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad it's almost over.

It is fitting that the tour ends with those thoughts again. Missing Miles.
