FANS BEING SCREWED BY MSG, LIVENATION AND TM

Postby johnnyjumpstart on 21 Jun 2008 19:30

I think everyone should go for the refund. Unless of course the Sting & Stewart & Police fan clubs could throw us a meet & greet with the band. lol

I thinkTB will regret this decision,

I'm definitely going for a refund. I already have my floor pair; no way I want to be stuck trying to resell a pair in the nosebleeds now.

MSG Seating Nightmare..

Postby Starclassic on 21 Jun 2008 21:18

I was in Sec 65 (Had amazing seats) and they were switched to 331 Row G!!

I immediately called TM and they answered "Hello, this is xxxx, how may I offer you world class service today?"

I laughed out loud in his ear. I said WTF and told him what was going on and he immediately put me on hold and talked to his supervisor.

Then he came back and said, "My supervisor assures me your new seats are great".

I said I was originally 10 feet from the band and unless the new stage is raised 40 feet in the air the 331 sec seats were not going to cut it.

I then said I want a refund and he put me on hold again.

Then he came back after 10 minutes and told me I was all set and the refund was issued.

I checked my TM account online and it appears to be so.

Although I got my money back, I am very much crushed.. I know everyone here is a big fan, but The Police and Stew were my life growing up and I never got to see them as my Mother felt I was too young to go and see them.. I was 12..

Anyway I really wanted to be there for the last show, sort of for closure reasons, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen..

I know I could have kept the poor seats, but it was a matter of principle.. I don't take kindly to being swindled..

I don't know what to do now.. I guess wait and see if and where the stage moves to and scalp some tickets..

This really is a horrible thing..

Was this thinking about this:

Oh my God you take the biscuit
Treating me this way
'specting me to treat you well
No matter what you say
How can I turn the other cheek?
Its black and bruised and torn
There is no bigger gong.

Starclassic: don't give up on going to the show! I'm sure that some nutters here will have extras when all the dust settles and so keep an eye on the MSG ticket thread in "The Police Tour Tickets" section of the boards. If you stick with the fans, you will not pay above face value for anything!

And for further interesting reading...

http://ticketmastersucks.org/

Make sure if you are getting refunds you get 100% refund, sounds like the Ticketbastard has in the past only refunded the Ticket Prices not the fees.

Very good point, Animal. Their fuck-up, they should refund the entire purchase.

Well, I'm not going for a refund. I've got seats promised to a couple of Nutters. I want to see if LN or TB or whoever can do something better than an "upgrade" we didn't ask for. I've already given the fan club $200 and got a fake "autographed lithograph" and had my presale seats taken away from me. The least they could do is toss the die hard fans a bone
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

Have they given a reason why they decided to take those who jumped in early, (clearly fans) to get good seats are getting fucked up the arse?

refund is not good enough. It's not about the money, it's about the quality of service. This is like a man on death row being offered his last meal. he orders prime cut of grain fed beef, grange hermitage wine, and all his favourite trimming, prepared by his favourite chef. Then coming back to him and saying, well, we got you a steamed raddish and a bud light, from the same chef, or you can have your money back.

Last fucking show. What doesn't sink into their head about this? Talk about leaving a bad taste in peoples mouth. Way to sour a memory before it's even started, arseholes.

To quote Billy Connolly, "they should be fucked and burned".

Anyone brought this to the attention of a good friend who writes for the NY times? I don't have one there, but if someone does, I'm sure this would make a great story. Especially if they mention "the drummers long time fans (aka SC.net Nutters)" in the list of people being shafted. He says hopefully.

I hope those original seats don't turn up on TB's affiliate Ticketweb.

That would just add insult to injury.
