Sure you could room with me, and we could play the Drapeau vert game all day together. There are no sharp parts or strings, so I guess they'd let us have it in our room.

And, Grandma, Mini-Flag has spawned FOUR little buggers. They're numbered to tell them a part, just like Thing 1 and Thing 2. Proud, indeed!

We could so totally turn this game into a drinking game. Instead of French questions we could ask Police trivia questions. Sockii or Dietmar could be the quiz masters. Everytime you get an answer right, you move your flag to the next concert AND do a tequila shot. I bet a lot of us would never get past Cleveland with those rules.
Man! I really got to get back to writing my report cards. This new on-line system my school board uses is great. The only problem is that I'm only one click of the mouse away from you guys and all this fun. It's like trying to write a test in the school yard at recess time.

I love this idea! Maybe for the meet before the last show?

No one would last long with hard shots, so maybe some lighter beverage in shot glasses would be better, but it sounds like a blast!

HAHAHA. I think we may need to keep dirtymartini away from this activity. Might lead to awful logistics-related flashbacks - particularly if alcohol is involved. She's not happy when a flag gets stuck somewhere....

Yeah, I thought that this game might be a little traumatic for DM. Could you imagine if the UPS and FedEx guys had to answer a skill-testing question before delivering the flag? Gong only knows where it would be right now.
The only reason I'm picking on Cleveland is because 3/4 of the teeny flags in my class are stuck there in the game. Hopefully they'll move on come Monday. Otherwise, I'm sure Cleveland is a lovely place.

Hey, E-L! Thanks for digging this up. I'm sorry to be slow to reply. I've been so busy with the start of school that I haven't visited here for a week or so.
I've been mainly teaching the younger grades these last few years and have not had a grade 7 or 8 class that I could inflict this story on. I still have the unit on file in my classroom with the hopes of using it again one day.
By the way, I was on the University of Toronto campus last week and had the pleasure of bumping into two former students who had been in the first class of Grade 8's to read Le Drapeau vert. They'll be starting school at U of T on Monday. Time flies, huh?
