Hi everybody from Giovanni.

I guess the best news that can be given is 'the official one' and by now there is NO NEWS to spread in any official way by no-one.
What Sting.com is writing is that there is nothing to confirm right now, that in a way is not exactly a news, but that's the right one, as there are no news to confirm.

We at StewartCopeland.net have decided not to post anything on the main page about the news of a reunion as there is nothing specific to confirm; we will upload a new post on the main news page next week, confirming there are talks about it, but that's it, together with the announcement of new releases on dvd and cd.

I think this is the best way to respect the loyal fans as well as visitors reading the news on our main page.
As soon as something can be confirmed, if there will be something to confirm, you know we will have it on time from our official source.

I hope you can comprehend our way of treating the 'delicate' subject.

Folks, Craig has told me his official site will be up in time to announce the official anniversary releases from A&M. I'm sure these rumours will be addressed and properly squashed, lol, at that point.

I think the best news we have now is that none of the three guys have stepped forward and said 'no, this is not happening.' Until that happens I will consider it a possibility.

Yup, I agree. Until they announce a loud NO ! we can just wait and hope.

It sure is difficult when you see the headline on CNN's webpage. It doesn't seem real.

We're in touch frequently, that's why I said what I said; as soon as there is something to confirm, he/we will do that; to me this means he's not into giving alarming announcements if there is no need to.

Sure! But that's the truth, there is nothing to say (or at least to confirm).
And that's exactly what the Daily Mirror states; rumours aren't confirmation.
Anyway, you've been close to what people say about me sometimes, that I should have been a lawyer or a diplomatic...but I'm 'just' a musician and a label manager.

Anyway, I see there is some kind of rivalry between websites and the media in general; I don't feel like being part of this attitude; news got in, then they got cancelled, they come back, they change.... I simply don't feel like 'treating ' the readers of this forum this way; I may know some more details but there should be no reason to reveal them right now.
I even surfed a website where The Police tour tickets are on their 'ticketalarm' section! If it doesn't happen, this is the worst way to kill hope and dreams of too many fans!

I'm very glad most of you could understand our policy of 'spreading the news'.

Come to think of it.. Surely all this reunion stuff would have been planned last year not now... I mean is it possible for an act as big as the police to just get stadiums to play in!?

Very well put, and I do appreciate the stance this site is taking on a possible reunion. But I must admit, this is the craziest I've ever seen the rumour mill as far as a reunion is concerned. I wondered if it was only the die hard fans who were following this. So I looked at Yahoo's most popular seaches, and lo and behold The Police were number 1 again. Searches on the band are up 225% from yesterday alone. As for myself, I believe it's gonna happen, because if it wasn't, surely someone would have said something by now. Here's to hoping.
