THE POLICE BOX SET 2007 DETAILS !

Postby Jose on 04 Jan 2007 01:07

According with "Stingus.com":

Wed Jan 03 2007 | NEW POLICE DVD/CDs TO BE EXPECTED IN 2007

30 years of The Police will see itself reflected in some exciting new releases next year, one of them being the mid 2007 release of The Police Around the World DVD. The Police in the East will be featured as extra with footage that was not included in both documentaries.

Also, Message in a box vol 2 will be released, including the remainder of the commercially released back catalogue, but this time really EVERYTHING, including the missing tracks from the previous versions.

Here are some more details of this expected release:

THE POLICE - MESSAGE IN A BOX - THE COMPLETE RECORDINGS - VOL 2
30th Anniversay 59 track limited edition 4CD BOX SET which is to include rare versions, remixes and live tracks, including 5 tracks that were previously unreleased on CD.

This is to be the follow up box set to the 1993's MESSAGE IN A BOX: THE COMPLETE RECORDINGS.

Some of the tracks that are expected to be featured on this release are:
- De do do do De da da da (Japanese version)
- Truth hits everybody (Remix)
- Every breath you take (backing track)
- Roxanne (backing track)

Soon more news on these and some other releases.
Source: StingUs of course!

Added by myself... De do do do De da da da da (Spanish version), "Don't stand so close to me 86 (Dance Mix), "De do do do 86" ( but with Stewart drums added on it), umpublished songs, and one or two new songs 2007 of the 3Fabs Blonds!

I suggested a POLICE 30 Years in CD-ROM, Biography, pics, video and audio files.... an interactive tour of THE POLICE history with the up-to-date tools!

Regards from PERU,

JOSE

PS: I need to go to UKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the box will be really like this I will pay no single cent for it.
All this stuff was released before, how boring.
My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income.

The BBC archives must have sessions and live stuff in them.

For example, I seem to remember they re-recorded "Spirits" for Top Of The Pops in 81 and it was more in line with the version on the Live! album.

I do hope the tracklisting above is wrong as, in my opinion, this proposed box set would be a shocking addition to the Police legacy.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Yeah this seems a bit lacking, to be honest.

I'd really just rather the band record some new songs. Dreaming, I'd love a new album, but realistically it'd be cool to have two new songs alongside some new masters or something.

Tour? Haha.

Wow, that track listing would be a real let down. I wouldn't pay for any of that stuff. Sting must feel that he's written a really good new song to sell that box. They should have a few remixes, maybe one or two of Stewart's derangements, one or more new songs and a few new versions of old songs by way of their rehearsals, the Grammy performance or a one-off warm up gig in a small theater.

hmm...discs 3 and 4 seem familiar somehow.
Fraid i'm thinking 'cashing in'
disapointing.
I'm sure there are lots of incredible things in the vaults that we haven't heard yet (or bought before!) and plenty of people who would be delighted to go through those vaults.

Why rehash the synchronicity concert AGAIN ?

I'm getting a bit worried this is all turning from a celebration into a huge opportunity to make even more money (not neccesarily at the behest of the band themselves).

I recall something sting said at the Brit awards a few years ago "music is its own reward"

Sorry to be a drag but i soooo want this reunion to be great and something to remember for all the right reasons.

And we're getting older and probably wiser... At least, I hope!

Maybe I would have bought that thing 10 or 15 years ago (let's say 20 !), but by now, surely not.

Strange A&M have that marketing policy for The Police, as if the fans were the same than Justin Timberlake's. We're too old for this kind of stuff. :(

absolutely......if people on here aint gonna buy it there aint much hope for it selling..........the marketing people will be disapointed wont they aaaah.

here's a crazy idea........stuff we havent been able to get hold of before!!!

i.e rehearsals....demos....blistering live tracks ( walking on the moon from police in the east springs to mind....the drums on that are phenomenal ) ...interviews......im sure any one of us given a day or two in the vaults could come up with something much much better !!

Maybe if that were done it might sell a few more copies.......and after all thats all that matters isnt it ? ...(im being sarchastic and cynical here btw)

i shant be buying it as it is....no way.... sorry guys
