A friend of mine managed to listen in on the recent meeting our boy's had at the A&M offices (he had his ear to the door), he then lovingly transcribed the text exclusively…HERE IT IS :


Stewart “…Sting ! hey, it was great to get your call, ….You know, I’ve been waiting for that call a helluva longtime…Thought it would never happen !”

Andy “…Mmm…really happy that we could finally get together and talk. And the fact that it was you who called us, THAT was nice”

Sting “Thanks guys. But let me put things straight right away…this has got to be a group thing okay..this is not Sting deciding everything, okay ? This is all three of us…And I want you to be perfectly frank with me. When you don’t agree, you have got to say so, okay? No taboos”

Stew “Wow, that’s clear…you sure about this Stingo?”

Andy “Exactly, because I for one have some very clear ideas about how this reunion should be done”

Stew “Yeah…ME TOO !”

Sting “Well that’s great then. Shall we start with a name for it ?”

Andy “Great idea, Stewart and I have been racking our brains and we both came to the conclusion that we could call it the…”

Sting (Butting in)“I think we should call it “Last Goodbye”. You know, from the song Can’t stand losing you”.

Andy and Stewart (In unison) “Great !”

Sting “…and because it will be exactly that”

Stew (A little glum, but optimistic) “Well…okay… at least we can finish the set with Can’t stand, ….it’s one of my favourites !”

Sting “No, we won’t be playing that song……But you can choose… at least one song each …that you want to play, provided I can remember the words…”

Stewart “Jeez…that’s really cool of you Sting..thanks.”

Andy “I think that we should keep it really natural, the hair, clothes etc..…no more image thing…”

Sting “exactly…but maybe you should go to see a doctor friend of mine Andy…he could help you out with that double chin..he’s good !”

Andy (a bit taken back and embarrassed) “ Well you’d have to give me his number…Is he expensive ?”

Stewart “Ahem, while we’re on that subject…no taboos, remember…the big question is : How much are we going to make ?”

Sting “Well, … we’re talking A LOT of money…at least 8 digits !”

ANDY and Stewart smiling

Sting “Which of course will be divided up in the normal way”

Stewart “which is ?”

Sting “ 50/50…”

Andy “50 /50 ?!!”

Sting “Yeah…you two split 50/50 on your 20% of ticket sales…of course you both have to pay the production costs, but as I chose my own production company to look after everything….like that I know they’ll be fair to you two…keep it to a minimum.. only 1 or 2 million each”

Stewart (Dismayed) “Huh ?!!!”

Andy (being reasonable) “ well, I suppose, that it’ll be worth it Stewart… after all… it IS a whole tour”

Sting (a little embarrassed) “Ermmm…well its not, technically speaking, a WHOLE Tour…”

Stewart “Well..how many dates are we actually going to play, Sting?”

Sting “ I thought we’d not be too ambitious to start with…after all it’s been along time”

Andy “Mmm…a sort of mini special-tour ?”

Sting “I’m not sure that the word "mini" is appropriate …. for just one concert”

One concert, why bother then? Oh right, the money.
