Truth hits everybody session outtake

Postby smax on 05 Jun 2008 22:35

three thoughts, well, 5.

cool: new stuff.
i like gordo's mockerney intro "wahn, tooo, fweee, phoar"
stewart's comment at 2:42 is nice and sweary.
first half; nice hats and vocals, second half is much better in terms of being able to listen to it for enjoyment rather than 'study'...
cool: new stuff.

if they made new music now and it sounded like the first half of the tune, which would be a distinct possibility, i would be heart-broken: leave it lads, just leave it (or speed it up).

thanks fer sharing Joe, although i don't think everyone's pleased....

What worries me is that his Stewart's "official" site. This site and TP.com have been really nice about not cracking down on us for sharing bootlegs and other ROIO. But I think it is because in general we have been really good about not posting stuff that should not be posted. I just hate to see the powers that be start to fell like that have to crack down.

Just sayin'.

Do we know for sure that we're not supposed to have this recording?

And also, who would mind if we do?
I know all about this session and I would like to know who you got this track from please?

Craig
Craig: I have no idea where it came from. I have no inside contact or something like that. I downloaded it from a blog. But I do not have any info of where it came from. I am sorry if this was something that should not be posted here but I was just trying to share a rarity that is not very common to find from the boys. I will edit the post and delete the link if you think so.

ok, ok, everyone calm down. it's getting a little too close to the usual elitist trading bullshit that means only a few special people have access to rarities and never share them with the rest of us.

JMRL, THANKS for posting! which blog is this from? i think we should try and track down a lossless version. in fact whomever originally shared this needs a slap on the wrist for converting such a rarity to mp3 in the first place. everyone these days can easily download FLAC or SHN files. what's more, they saw fit to use 128kbps - absolutely unforgiveable. sounds shocking. It's just wrong that the only version we have of this track has been mp3-squished to absolute death. listen to those cymbals - squish, squish! so now i suppose only the elite traders get to have the lossless version... :)

Craig, hows about letting us know when this was recorded? Details? Cheers.

oh, and "PS" - if anyone can provide a solid, logical argument as to exactly how posting commercially unavailable police tracks will deprive the band or its label of income, i'll happily back up the assertion that we shouldn't post them. until then, *what is this?? the mccarthy era??* cripes, lighten up! how much money have we all spent on police related material??? perhaps if if some leaves were taken out of U2 or Genesis' book, a full set of outtakes and demo sessions would be officially released, instead of elitist trading circles having exclusive access to them....

I agree 110% with this post
This is clearly not a released track at all.
Why the kid gloves around this stuff?

Until this track is released it is free to share.
Those who think this track is off limits should give back the Sting Ghost demos which contain released elements...as well as Synch rehearsals which are as released as this gem.

lets work to liberate more of this stuff...

Craig,
I also knew about these recordings. The person who downloaded them in Mediaplayer doesn't want to tell me where he got them from. Maybe the name of the person who gave him the recordings begins with N and finishes with L or maybe it begins with J and finishes with M. All together a little bit suspicious but somebody may understand me........

Salut!
You could take pity on an old friend and let them in on it.

I think that the point is that they few that are in possession of it, would like to keep it a rare recording.

I meant kid gloves amongst those of us that do not have this type of session. When this stuff shows up we should praise it and encourage more share!! Not act like we should cover our ears!

-its just exciting t know that these things are out there
