A little "creative work" to share...

Hey all,

So I've been taking a class this fall on "Painting the Costumed Figure". For a homework assignment to practice techniques, I started thinking about all those great pictures of the Police in different costumes (from India, Hong Kong, Egypt, etc.) What could be more fun to work on? And I think I finally finished my project last night. Hope you enjoy...

(It's 16"x20", oil on canvas. I think I'll pick something a little less...complicated next time!)

nicole, i think you understand when i say they will go baroque. your painting gives idea for the cover of an album... on lute mixed with other instruments, of course.

Sockii, that is beautiful! I was expecting the usual "fanart" that is usually a far cry from "painterly" but that just shocked me how well done it is! Beautiful! Faces are freaking hard! Especially "well-known" faces. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for all the nice comments :) I've been studying classical painting techniques for a while so it was fun to use the old master tricks on a more modern subject (and truthfully I'm a little tired of just copying the masters and wanted to do something a bit more "original").
