Mr Sting !

Mr Sting !

Before hearing the new lute material by Sting, I personally sought, it was an absurd attitude for Sting to go back to very old music instead of looking forward. Now that I’ve heard the result, I tell you : Sting has an credible sens of music. This songs are magnificent!

Mr. Sting, there you clearly exceeds all that you did since five or six years. Thank you to have made it, and now does nothing any more but that! Edge your remix techno with puf dady which stink. Puts your famous at the service of the true music. That which is not commercial, which does not consist in selling a certain quantity of discs or T-SHIRTS…. That which is based on the feelings. Fact proof of ethics. Truth.

Will you say the same thing when we'll get a 4track promo CD with 9 mixes : Lute dub mix Edit
Lute Hanni Commissionned remix
Lute Dave Aude remix
Dowland Kipperized Murlyn extended mix
Any other s*** mixes
...
 :D

Actually, I totally agree with you Phillip : It's good to hear Sting doing stuff like that (Don't forget he already recorded "The Soldier's tale", "Peter and the wolf", "3 penny opéra" he's good in classical music !)
The 5 tracks I can listen from this album are very pleasant.

It's not out until October 10th folks. At first I thought he was nuts, but then I realized this is right up his alley. It was something he did for fun and decided to share with us, like Everyone Stares. Will it define his career? Who cares? He's an icon at this stage of his career, and he's not going anywhere now. He'd have to REALLY tank to loose people now. I think it will be interesting. Maybe not my favorite album of his, but I'll follow him down this path. He's never lead me down a wrong path yet.

TO be honest, I can't bear all the remixes we get from Sting such as some bunus tracs... I don't like all the remix you are speaking about LISTING.

I don't even like the remasterd vertion of the cd we get in France called "THE SINGLES" witch sounds bad compared to the original albums. Am I wrong??

But, the kind of "REMIX" Stuart does the so called "derangements" are something very intresting in did! Very exiting. It's not standard techni DJ mix.

Honestly I've found Sting's recent work to be a bit, um, mass-marketed for my tastes...it's not terrible, but I prefer music that's a bit more avant-garde. I'll check this out if you guys say it's good, but admittedly I didn't quite get what he was driving at from the samples Gio posted.

(Is it wildly foofy? Are the songs about anything interesting? How are the arrangements...?

["Foofy" is the same as absurd, only less serious...I wonder if there's a similar word in Italian/French/whatever else language we're all speaking in here...might have to look this up on Worldlingo...;)])

You know what I can't stand. If I hear "Fields of Gold" one more time, I will just puke. I grew up loving the Police and then following Sting and going to every single concert of his for each of his albums, but that song just drives me batty. Can't stand it. CAN standing losing IT! ha.

I've seen him do the lute performance on two T.V. shows here in the states and each time it is lovely until he has to do "Fields of Gold" on the lute!! WHY?????
