That IS pretty cool.

My problem is (sigh) I'm a pack rat. And I'm married to a neat freak. So if I bought everything my little heart desired, I'd probably need to find myself a new spouse. Sigh. Hanna, I think you get this one.

(The good news is that Hub's aversion to clutter doesn't extend to CD collecting...we have A LOT of music. I should post a photo of our media closet sometime.

I kid Hub that he married me for my CDs, which may be more true than I'd like to admit, as we are both huge music fans...He's a fan of late 80s punk music and I think it impressed him that I not only knew who Mike Watt was, but that I'd seen him in concert.

Part of our gigantic collection is due to the fact that a good friend of ours owns a record store, and lately to the fact that Tower Records here in the States went out of business and everything in there is 70% off. I picked up several of the Police 25th anniversary reissues this week, as well as a lot of great world music on deep discount. I'm listening to some really cool Cuban percussion right now...Carlos "Patato" Valdez. I'd highly recommend it.)

I used to be a huge and obsessive hoarder and collector when I lived in my huge flat in Exeter, but when I moved to London I had to down-size in a big BIG way... most of my vintage clothes collection had to go, two thirds of my books, a vast collection of music papers and magazines and a ton of interesting *things*. I kept my fabulous Debbie Harry mirror though and I'm definitely making room for a Police mirror. I don't think it's my flatmate's style however; as tolerant as she is of my vinyl and CD collection's dominance of the living room I think the mirror will be going in my room!

That's partly why I live in a smaller city. I was in Washington, D.C. for a decade...needed to move here to be near family when my dad got sick, met a guy, decided to stay here yadda yadda. I miss the excitement, but I actually have a yard now. It's pretty cool. Oh, and a garage to fill with junk and miscellaneous scuba gear.

I hear there are a lot of good wrecks off Britain, although you'd probably need a pretty serious wetsuit to see 'em.

Bought my sister in law one of those cool new Ipod shuffles, that's about the size of a postage stamp. Think it's a 1-gig. You can get it personalized for free. I also knit her a lil' bag with her initials to keep it in, and I'm burning her five or six CD mixes to dump in there too.

Anyone got that Klark Kent Xmas song on MP3? I'd love to get my mitts on it. [Edit: Never mind...just found the IRS Xmas CD on Ebay and bought it! Only $12 including shipping...totally lucked out! yay!]

Sure. It'll probably take a few days to get here...You just want the KK song, or all the others too? Probably be fastest for me to simply burn and mail a copy, unless others want it too, in which case I may be able to whomp up an FTP server directory.

Why is that person not on SC.net? Sounds like one of our people.

I just linked to the KK Christmas song out front in the forum. Check it out! It's a lotta fun.

I guess the fact that they are selling all that stuff explains why they're not on here! Although they could be a Stingo-ite of course...

How could you ever outgrow your love for the Police?! although that cuttings collection looks exactly like the kind of thing Hub is forever pestering me to give to charity. No offense to the blonds.

(Mostly my problem is that I'm interested in too many things...I'm an avid gardener, I make jewelry and knit, so I've always got a ton of supplies around and nowhere to put 'em. I love to read, and I've got a lot of reference books on art, some atlases, and tomes on the Audubon bird prints I collect...can't ever seem to travel anywhere without bringing home a cool wall hanging or a bench or something...

What I really need is a bigger house, but I bet I'd just fill that up too. ;))
