How we got here

Sorry Mrs. G - I don't know your sense of humour yet! :-) I haven't heard that song since I saw it on the B side, so I thought it was pretty obscure.

I have all of them except Japanese/ Spanish versions etc... and only because I haven't tried to get them, I know I"ll just listen to them once, then never again.

On with the thread....

Hi everyone, I'm Hannah. I'm new here - be nice ;)

My Dad bought Regatta de Blanc when it came out and I was a tiny wee girl living in London. I fell in love with Message In A Bottle... that first awesome cymbal crash gets me every time. We moved away from London in '83 to a small city in south west england and I used to listen to Every Breath You Take over and over because it reminded me of London and the life I missed there. That was the start for me. I wanted to play drums but my parents, understandably, denied me. I played the cello instead (I know, no substitute!). Still love bands with great drumming though. My huge love for the Police resurfaced in my mid-twenties, before the internet was widely available, and it was so hard to track anything down in those days but then Outlandos to Synchronicities came out on video and I would watch it endlessly - especially Stewart, of course! And now we have the internet and I can find everything I ever wanted to do with Stewart and the Police. Isn't technology a wonderful thing?!

Omegaman, there is nothing obscure here! Right Dietmar? :-P

Ah yes, I likes to eat my friends, make no bones about it. One of my favorite songs, showing Andy's great sense of humor.

Omega man and Hannaha since your both new as an initiation you have to dance around in your underwear singing the line, "I'm a canary in a coalmine".

Hello Hannaha.

Your initiation with Police sounds really kool.

The only reason I didn't understand very well, is why you parents object that you play drums?

What a pity...

I think it was the noise levels Georgygirl. I shared a house with a drummer once and it was torturously loud!

I wouldn't mind dance around to that song, but since I get dizzy even walking in a straight line I might have to pass...

Ouch!

Now, I got you Hannaha, maybe drums are noisy for other people.

Anyway, what a pity...

There still not as cool, but.... don't they have electronic drumbs where they're set up the same but you hear it through headphones?
