Sting's Songs From the Labyrinth

So, has anybody bought it? What do you think? Stewart?

At first I thought he had lost his mind, but I was willing to give it a try. I saw him perform on the TODAY show the other day, and I nearly fell off my chair. It sounds similar to classical guitar, and the vocals are similar to when he sings Message In A Bottle acoustically. Really, although the songs are 400 years old, they are timeless, and not all that different from some of the mellow songs Sting has been doing for a while now. I'm generally not a fan of mellow stuff, but I like some of the stripped down songs he's done for movies, like Someone To Watch Over Me, and some of these songs are quite similar. It certainly beats those dance mixes - YUCK! If you like classical music, you should pick up the cd. XM is broadcasting the fan club performance on Monday, with re-broadcasts throughout the week, if you'd like to check out a sample before you buy. Also, he'll be on that NBC show Studio 60 next week, playing these songs.

Um...I gotta say, I've heard a few samples, and I really can't abide the multi-tracking effects. It might be different listening to the full album, but I'm not sure I'm going to run out and buy it.

I just got it. It might grow on me (I really doubt it), but so far I'm not much for it.

The more of it I hear the less I like it.

I bought it some days ago.Not bad,I must admit that it's unusual stuff but I find it interesting and charming.The sound of lute is something celestial,hear and judge.

Sting was on Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip this week. He actually looked and sounded really good. He sang a song from the new CD, had a few lines, and then closed the show with a lute version of Fields of Gold. I have fallen in love with this show anyway, so to have the added bonus of a Sting appearance was a real treat.

I bought the lute album when it came out.

Haven't really listened to it all yet... haven't had much time too.

It seems really mellow so I am going to try and make some time on Sunday!

As long as there isn't a dance remix album of the lute songs I'm happy!
