Well I'll bite even though I rarely post here any more...although I am constantly reading up on all you uber-nutters. I was in a band until last December, just didnt mix well with the other guys. They were all interested in playing country or alt-country (whatever that is). I didnt have much of a problem with it, but who would come listen to us play country music when we're about 20 miles outside of NYC was beyond me. Besides, any mention of playing Police tunes was basically scoffed at. So off i went. After leaving, of course, I parted with a few hundred and bought one of the Tama SC Signature Snares. I needed it of course because I'm not playing with anyone anymore :roll:

Any drummer will realize that this was a clear case of gear addiction.

Hoping to actually start up a band that will play some Police, some reggae, some new wave-y stuff and some 90s and modern rock. But first gotta wait till my son is born (June) and I get a little free time, so maybe in a year or so...

Really liked the tunes. Cool flangy bass....kinda like a RE-invented 80's vibe...I can't describe it well enough.

Always writing, recording, etc. If I'm not cutting picture, i'm working on music as a break from editing! Mack came over just last night to lay down some vocals on an old song i'm reworking, a Public Enemy crossover. I'm getting ready to upload two new songs, one for each of our myspaces. Ideally, they'll go up tomorrow and the next day.

In terms of what to recommend, the newest thing up right now is the "Working Man" theme, which we did for the local TV show I'll be cutting full time in a couple of months if all goes well. Should be the first tune on myspace.com/vfwing2. Eric did all guitar, bass and drums, I did the layer of electronic-y stuff accompanying. It's one of our hookiest pieces ever, really...

Thanks BB - I'm really genuinely pleased you like them.

The sound is not intentional believe me - but that's what you get from recording in an old British shed with no sound proofing!

Yea but it's really cool.

Sometimes you can offend someone by comparing their sound so I didn't want to be specific. It has that electro spoken word vibe singing.

It's great to support the other talented dudes in this group.

PS.heh,heh... do a DUB mix of one of your tunes...with bass and drums dropping out...then just bass n drums...then an echo vocal...then...well you know. I love that stuff. Groove on !

Don't worry, I don't get offended very easily - after all, it's just great to get some feedback so thanks again.

VF crawls out of the wood-work...

I'm fortunate to be in the middle of a busy spring doing the drummer-for-hire thing. My jazz quartet has 2 steady monthly gigs, with more things planned for spring/summer. I'm playing with 3 different churches, there's some community concert band things coming up and I just finished playing "Anything Goes" and "Oklahoma" for different theatre groups. Fun stuff!
