Most of the shows on the tour have been sold out. Maybe he'll be back for a second leg of the tour.
Thanks for the Report Tony.

Yeah I noticed that most shows were sold out. Keeping my fingers crossed for a second leg.

How was the sound of the Roland V-drums that Dave is playing? (looking to get me one of those kits someday) :D

They were killer. Sounded like Dave was playing a "live' kit.

I've played them before too. I've never been a fan of electronic drums and always been a "wood shell" dude, but these drums really impressed. The heads have a nice feel and so do the cymbals and the array of sounds are quite realistic. I did have trouble getting used to playing them at first. I'm a hard hitter and like to hammer nails when I play and you have to approach them differently.

Just heard there's a chance Elvis Costello is sitting in on current Nick Lowe tour - he came onstage in NYC... I tell you, it will be the squeeeee heard round the world if I get to see the two of them together, either in L.A. Or Nashville...

hmm, now that would be a blast...wonder if Elvis will show up at the Cat's Cradle show in Chapel Hill?

My concert calendar is so ridiculous right now, so at a certain point what's one more?

I love my V-drums -- when I find the time to play them! For a city dweller like me it's about the only choice I have unless I want to soundproof the house :) But yeah, they're pretty sweet...

Saw X at the Orange Peel in Asheville. I figured it would be my chance to see them so buy the ticket take the ride and all that. Exene and John have been working on new songs and have talked about going back into the studio, however...

The footage from SXSW was not good, and so I figured be what it may, I'm here to see X live...And I've always been a big fan...I wanted to catch this show so bad that we went to Asheville directly after landing on a red-eye flight from Seattle...a shower, a bite to eat at an amazing vegetaria restaurant, and then we were ready to rock some more <grin>

Let me tell you, they blew the f*in roof off the place. We got there before the opening band, the Detroit Cobras (LOVE the bass player and rheythm guitar player...go go rawk chix, but uneven sound make lots of it hard to hear) and so we were up front, leaning against the stage.

When they were setting up for X, we were slightly left, and they rolled out Billy Zoom's gear right in front of us. Good spot <grin> When they took the stage, the place blew up--opened with Your Phone's off the Hook...Billy was playing up at the very edge of the stage and he does this splits thing so basically I had his crotch in my face the whole show, LOL...He was massively flirting with a few of us gals in the front, haha...

Exene's still got it and we all know John F*in Doe rocks hard, they still have that reparte and sounded killer. I was having a bit of a hard time hearing all parts because we were in Zoomland, freaking gorgeous guitar blaring rockabilly rhythms up our asses...good stuff.

Here's what I remember: Phone's off the Hook, Beyond and Back, Los Angeles, Adult Books, White Girl, Johnny Hit and Run Paulene, Nausea, World's a Mess, Soul Kitchen, Sugarlight and many others, but I have to get on out the door so that'll have to do for now!

They rock as hard as they ever did--totally worth it if you get the chance (there may be more dates TBA)...

in looking if there were any Youtube vids of this show, I found one of "Once Over Twice" and just about fell over laughing when I saw the SuperCat boppin away for 10 seconds when the camera panned over to Billy Zoom's side (in the front, with my hair in my face, and my big-ass cat eye glasses) at 1:54...

You sometimes you rock out and forget that you might end up on youtube, even for a second...I think you should live life as if you don't care, though... <giggle>

Saw Death Cab For Cutie (and Rogue Wave opening) last Tuesday. Open air, in Millennium Park in Chicago, in the Gehry bandshell. It was great.

I've always liked DCFC, but I've also always liked Ben's side project Postal Service better. The new DCFC album has a lot of Postal Service influences and aspects to it. They were great live, very engaging, and having the city spreading out behind them as we ate our picnic didn't hurt either. Rogue Wave were good too.

And for the drummers among us, here's a nice little clip of the DCFC drummer, Jason, playing a groove that is pretty cool as a drum lesson:

July 27 - Marc Cohn - Indianapolis
August 1 - 3 - Dublin Irish Festival (Gaelic Storm)
August 10 - Fiction Plane - Bloomington
