YOUR TURN STEWART

...

I read "Wild Thing" recently and quite enjoyed it. I'm sorry I missed Uncle Ian; he must've been quite a guy.

I've also read all the HP books, georgy. I think JK Rowling's the greatest. That said, right now I'm reading a book called "The Secret Life of Sharks," about great white biology, and one on politics called "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy." As they say, if you're not outraged, you're not paying attention, but I guess that's a post for a different day.

I'm trying to think of authors I like you all would've heard of, but I'm pretty interested in nerdly scientific topics. I'll keep thinking, though. I do have a book on the Basing Street pub scene on order...have I mentioned I'm also a giant Nick Lowe fan?

I keep meaning to start a thread on what all other music we like...I'll try to remember to do that soon.

"The Best Democracy Money Can Buy."

This title sounds very interesting for me.

Once I wrote a text for my Master that calls Argentina case (2003) like an example of an utopic democracy and I enjoy it so much.

After that I wrote my final text:

Postmodern Art.

Punk, Rock & Hard Core music as it reflect the Argentina case.

I love this work and maybe that is why I fantasy writing about My Superman, Kinetic Kid, Klark Kent. Maybe sometime, someday, who knows...

Do you understand what I mean?

Although I'm not as up on Argentinian politics as I would like to be. (I am keeping an eye on the national Mexico election...what do you think about it? Was it a fair election or no?)

Post a few paragraphs of your thesis when you get a minute. I read passable Spanish, and there's always the WorldLingo translator...

Yes, it was a fair election, no matter what some people could think.

Thanks you for that you want to read some of my thesis, maybe I will send part of it to your email soon.

And if I will write some about Copeland in Spanish, I can send it to you too...

one day i'm going to have to broaden my reading material to include more books on science, politics, etc. but right now i limit myself to whenever the newspaper covers those topics. still sticking with my art-centered books for the time being.

and i'm running out of books. rodriguez' "rebel without a crew" is pretty fast reading. i would have finished it a week or two ago, but i only allow myself to read it on breaks at work, so as to stretch it out. after it i will be reading "exodus", about the making of the bob marley album of the same name. after that...

what's next? there are a few more bob books i will be picking up, but then what? it hit me today that i guess i should read sting and andy's books, as a nod to their influence on me, but i am much more a stewart fan. and today i realized that i reeeeally want a book from him. like, really. so, stewart, after you are through doing all these movies and albums and box sets (subliminal... wait.. it'll hit you), i and everyone else here would surely love to see you revisit all aspects of your varied career on the printed page someday!
I don't remember if Stewart told me personally or whether I read it in some of the interviews, but Stewart would rather do a book about his life 'after' The Police....nothing in the can by now, just an idea about the concept for a possible book ...

Stewart can you confirm? Was I dreaming?
yes, this would be the ideal focus (for me at least, tho i'm sure some police fans will disagree). although it may be less popular, stewart has always been one to follow his own heart, the true mark of a great artist.

for years i've tried to keep up with stewart's endeavors, catching every interview i could, long before the internet in general and this site in particular made it SO much easier. there have been a few bright spots, but a vast majority of interviews have focused on the police years, which actually comprise a tiny amount of stewart's terrifically varied career. c'mon, this is a guy who's done everything from rap to opera! a more versatile and far-reaching visionary we're not likely to see in our lifetimes.

the "yo" board is a great nod in the direction of a book like this. if we never see one, i will simply entertain myself reading these blogs. i'm spacing them out too, so as to take each one in fully and not OD in one sitting. plus, they're superior from an interactive perspective: we actually get to comment on them.

i can definitely wait for a while on a book, since i would rather get more musical and film works from him. i'd go so far as to say the final chapter has yet to begin!

But I want to read about his life BEFORE The Police too. During? Bleh not that much, we all know to much about that already.
