Aussie tickets (getting ahead of myself I know)

When I heard that the Police were doing a tour again after all these years I said to my best mate that I would sell the kids for tickets. After all, I can always have more children. OK, so I'd come rescue them later, but at least I'd have seen the Police, and we'd all have something to tell grand-kids about one day.
Stuart, I dare say that you have plenty of drummers hoping to meet you, so one more surely won't hurt. I'd be happy just shake that hand of the man that inspired me to become a drummer myself, and provided me with a benchmark to attempt to achieve. Such an inspirational player.
A chance to be backstage just to get a close view of you in action from a vantage point that wasn't obscured by bass players and guitarists would be awesome.
I suppose I know my chances are slim, but if I don't ask... And if this wish came true then that would be the thrill of a lifetime for me - meeting my hero.
Anyway... Hey, am I the first Aussie in here I wonder?

Another Taswegian going to "the big smoke" for the gig. I'm in Hobart.
Problem is getting news about ticket sales down here. I'd be really pissed off if I miss out, and because the tickets will go so damn fast I see it is a massive risk. I don't any sort of a reliable local contact to let me know when to purchase, which makes me all the more nervous.

Sorry drummerdave
i usually don't come here
how did you go?
Ticketmaster was the way I went and did the presale
i know you can buy tickets in places like Myers and such going by a friend who bought U2 tickets last year
the sale started on Monday the 30th and when checked late in the afternoon they hadn't sold all the tickets
check the police tour site for it will let you know if tickets are still available
Victorian born but love Tassie spent most of my life here.

of course I heard nothing about it and only just found out about it tonight. I am SO pissed off that it looks like I'm going to miss out on getting a good view of Stewart. I went looking for fan sites months ago and found nothing in Aus - well hidden or I just wasn't lucky. I knew from missing out on tickets to the Goodies that fan sites are at least good for letting people know sales dates.
At this stage I'm just hoping another show SOMEWHERE in Aus is announced so I get a 2nd chance.
