New York, NY (CNS) - Sting is looking forward to be a solo artist again. The English rocker says that as soon as their band, The Police, ends their reunion tour in August, he will retreat to his home in Italy to write new song materials.

"I don't write on the road. Never do it. I need some peace and quiet, which is why I got that place in Italy," the 56-year-old 'Desert Rose' singer says.

"I'll go there and wait for inspiration or I'll go for long walks and think what have I learned in the past couple of years and what I can put into songs that people will find interesting."

"I don't want to make a noise for the sake of making a noise. I want to actually say something for myself and for the people who listen to me."

The Police, which other members include Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland, started their reunion tour on May 28, 2007. Just recently Sting has said that after wrapping up their tour in August, "There will be no new album, no big new tour, once we're done with our reunion tour, that's it for the Police."
