Palm Beach Post blog post from an interview with Taylor Hawkins:

Last paragraph:
"I’m a huge Police fan. I was really happy for Stewart. I’ve known him a little while, and it’s hard to consider someone like that one of your good buddies, because he’s like a superhero to me. He’s almost not real. But I’m really happy for him that he got to (play with the Police) again, like driving his Rolls Royce again, the Rolls Royce being The Police. He started that band. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — If it wasn’t for him pushing Sting to act like he played in a punk band, Sting would have been a bass player in a jazz fusion band for the rest of his life, at best, or a soft rocker with a couple of hits. Stewart was the impetus. He made that band. And I think Sting would agree with that."
