Synopsis:
Based on the acclaimed memoir One Train Later by rock guitarist Andy Summers, Can’t Stand Losing You: Surviving the Police follows Summers' journey from his early days in the psychedelic ‘60s music scene, when he played with The Animals, to chance encounters with drummer Stewart Copeland and bassist Sting, which led to the formation of a punk trio, The Police.

During the band’s phenomenal rise and its dissolution at the height of their popularity in the mid-80s, Summers captured history with his candid photographs.

Utilizing rare archival footage and insights from the guitarist’s side of the stage, Can't Stand Losing You: Surviving the Police brings together past and present as the band members reunite, more than two decades later, for a global reunion tour in 2007.

I was able to attend an advance screening last night at the LAEMMLE’S ROYAL in West LA with Andy attending, a display of his photographs and a Q&A after.

I really enjoyed the film and Andy was gracious as always answering questions after the film. It's interesting to see things from his POV in the archival footage and on the reunion tour which you don't see that often as well as his wife and kids which you never see.

I highly recommend showing your support for the film and Andy and seeing it if you can when it comes out in the U.S. I know he put a lot of time and effort into it.

hi Throb

the PoliceWiki could use a ticket for the page about that event - if you took photos, I'd love to show one, too, of course

Hi Dietmar,

I didn't take any pictures of the event, unfortunately.
I do have a ticket, some nice postcards of film, and a signed movie poster.

I can scan and email you PDFs.

I can also write up a little summary of the evening.

Thanks!

For LA peeps:

I think Andy will be doing more Q&As at the LAMMLE’S ROYAL.

I think his photography show will be hanging at that theater for the run.

It’s called “Mysterious Barricades” featuring 17 photographs.

You can buy a print if you want.

For $2,500

It's not signed but hey it comes with a Frame

As always hard to get any details from Andy’s website. Below is the official website for the film, no details on Q&As.

Maybe when tickets go on sale tomorrow for the Lammle Royal they'have the details on Q&As :?:
