Wow, once again, sockii was so right! Adam Ant gave a really great show this past Saturday night at Madison Theatre in Covington KY. The only possibly negatives were on the part of the Theatre, which is a 'cash only' venue. No problem for me (other than not being able to get my ticket earlier the day of the show !) since I am a cash only girl, but i heard more than one disappointed conversation at the Ant merch table after wards, along the lines of all-my-cash-went-to-ticket-&-bar, and then seeing at least 3 or 4 folks walk away w/ no cool Ant gear, not good.
As far as Adam Ant and his band, not only was the musicianship high by everyone, including Adam (a good guitarist there, when he does play), Adam's voice was GOOD, I mean really in in good solid voice, hitting ALL the high & low notes, and not problem sustaining long passages. Lot's of energy-and he's still a cheeky b*****d!-, funny & self deprecating but not too much so, and once everything warmed up, very interactive.
Dietmar, your ticket for the 2014 show in Deutschland will not be wasted if this quality and energy is maintained.
And yes, drummike, I pogo-ed more than a little to stand & deliver , I mean I kept dancing the whole evening. Bought the new CD after also. I do like most of the songs performed live best, but as always, Adams songs are diverse, catchy, and always tell a good story.
I even made it to church the next day, didn't 'crash' until after I got home-THEN big nap time, I am getting OLD!!!
