Stewart's hi-hat on the making of 'So' (P.Gabriel)

Postby giovanni on 02 May 2012 15:44

The new dvd release by Peter Gabriel about the making of 'SO' features a minute where he and Daniel Lanois talk about the use of the hi-hat recorded by Stewart Copeland on the track 'Rain' and you can listen to the separate track from the original master.

very cool, Gio. Thanks for posting that. Now, if I could stop watching and get back to work, that would be nice.

Thanks so much for this, Giovanni. Such excellent work on this album. "Red Rain" and "Mercy Street," in particular, are a couple of my favorite songs.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

That was a crazy session, with great results. Peter's a Prince!

Thanks for posting Gio.
I remember exactly where I was (with my college roommates) when I came back to our apt. with the album the day it came out and we dropped the needle. We WORSHIPED Peter Gabriel.
I followed the link on You Tube page and I am listening to the album now as I work. I agree with what someone said in the doc, it's so timeless, it could have have been recorded yesterday.

SPOILER ALERT

Wish there was some mention of Big Time.

Thanks but needs more Stewart. I've always adored his hi hat part.
