Ty Dennis, is the drummer of "Riders of the storm" (The new project of The Doors by Kruiger & Manzarek), the band made a gig in Lima - Peru on 2008 with a great success (20,000 audience) and it was considered one of the best audience during their tour for a long time... Nowadays, Ty Dennis is in Lima for playing drums with local cover band of "The Doors" called "Backdoormen" (two venues)... He met the band in 2008 in Lima and he considered the Peruvians one of the best cover bands around the world... He replies on Peruvian news that his drum idol is Stewart Copeland in spite of the fact Stew is from the rock scene, "It was an honor and a big surprise when I replaced my idol (Stewart Copeland) on "Riders of the storm" he said... he considered Stewart, the best 8)

It's a shame that Stewart did not last long in the 21st century doors...man I would have loved seeing that.

One of the few Doors shows with STEWART was in my town . . . AND I SKIPPED IT!!!!

I must have had temporary insanity. HUGE regret.

I was watching tickets for the Philly show, but by the time that rolled around he'd already exited the group.

Having heard some of the recordings of it all, in the end I'm rather glad he got out of that whole mess while the getting was good.

I had tickets to see them in LA but was able to sell them when I learned Stewart would not be playing... was looking forward to it - just like the Outlandos show that didn't happen.

I saw the Riders/Doors-ish play a couple of years ago, and the whole vibe was odd and strange and unsettling and kinda creepy, like the original players being in their own cover band. I've heard the bootlegs, but I really can't imagine how the SC version would have come off.
