Just to follow-up: I ended up missing the show in DC but did get to the show outside of Philly at the Keswick last week.

Verdict: Adam Ant is in better shape than ever. Performance-wise he was totally on top. Experience-wise, it wasn't nearly as transgressive and empowering as when I saw him last year. But that seemed to be more due to the venue and the type of crowd than anything else. I was really pleased to hear how great some of the new material sounded live vs. on album, since last year he only played maybe 1-2 new songs.

Anyway my full review is here, if anyone is interested:

I'm basically just so glad I've gotten to see him live twice in the past 2 years. While I enjoyed his music back in the 80s, I have a deeper appreciation now than I ever did for what he was trying to accomplish and also what he about these days...and I love it!

Ok, ok, I am going to 'shake' the remainder of this heinous head/chest cold that got me down this week and go tonight-you convinced me sockii, because I did get worse yesterda/Friday after feeling better, and hadn't actually bought that ticket yet! I only scheduled a half day today at work, so I am going to take a nap & go.......how's that for I gues an aging old Punkster.....no pogoing tonight. Well unless he REALLY nails Stand & Deliver, I can't promise moderation under those circumstances!
Thnx for posting the reviews too by the way.
Suzanne, we are playing Boone Woods behind the YMCA off KY 18 in Burlington, 7 to 8:30. The name of my rocking band is Florence Community Band...yep, we're a bunch of trumpets, horns, saxes, etc, just like high school. On the program for Saturday: The Beatles Remembered, The Jersey Boys Medley, and Lady Gaga Dance Mix, lol.
Hmmmmm, and I know that area since I go to the Vintage Brits Motorcycle Show at Boone CO Fairgrounds every Sept., so I also know that gives me plenty o' time to drive back to The Madison for Adam. I believe my evening is set! Ok drummike, am not promising, since I really am recuperating, but if you see a not so tall lady wearing leggings and an ADAM ANT t-shirt, well you know a this fellow Nutter made it out to hear.

Be sure to come up to the stage during the break and say hello if you come to the park. If you decide not to come, I completely understand. Either way, it's Saturday Nite, let's all try to have a nice fun evening, right? (trying to conjure up a little Coolbreeze vibe for my evening ;-p)

drummike, I ended up 'collapsing in a heap' for a couple hours, instead of trying to get to Burlington before concert  . The head cold had (still, yikes) settled to a chest cold, and I had to go get my weeklies at Findely Mkt after the work 1/2 day, try to get my ticket (box office at Madison Theatre CLOSED  the hours prior to the concert), go by Job Corp in Cincinnati to drop items and see the younger of my "surrogate" boys....... but I am sorry I couldn't maintain the momentum to get there. It would have been great to actually meet IN PERSON one the Nutters-I did get to meet IndyGirl & agroovie1 before the Columbus Police concert, which was cool.
Adam Ant was great, and I will put a separate post up here about the show. So, sorry once again.

No problem, Falcon, I completely understand. We had a good turnout for the concert. Our next concert is 9/7/13 at Kenton Co Library in Erlanger on Kenton Lands Rd, 2 to 3:30 pm. On the program will be the first performance of my first band composition called "Pursuit of Justice" which is kind of a 5 minute rock symphony tribute to the actual police who catch the bad guys. The final third of the piece cranks up the tempo to about 145 bpm and I get to do some Copeland-ish upbeat drumming...lots of fun.
