I managed to snag last minute train and hotel deals (close to the venue even!) so I'm in for Charlottesville! The Jefferson Theater is a great venue. I saw Wanda Jackson there back in the early spring.

The show was great. It was an 80's night theme at the Jefferson Theater. The opening band was a Squeeze cover band that also did a great job for a bunch of kids most of whom weren't alive back in the 80's. The Jefferson did a promotion where people dressed up in 80's attire got a discount on the price which added to the fun of the evening.

I got to the theater a few minutes before the doors opened. Outside having dinner were Mike and Jimbo (plays Andy in a the show) and talking to a couple that came up from Hampton Roads. The guy saw several shows back in the 80's. He was familiar with Stewart's site but I don't know if he is a lurker in the forum here. Mike talked about some new songs they've been working into the show they hadn't played before (if don't think any were in the set list on Saturday) and he mentioned something really cool planned for the 10th Anniversary show. I don't want to spoil it here but it's got me contemplating coming out to LA for the Anaheim in Sept.

Then we went in to the show. Pluto (Dan) and his lovely lady got there a few songs into the Squeeze cover band's set and we had fun catching up in between songs and watching the many spectacles taking place and some that escalated further after more alcohol came into play. But everybody was cool and the security who looked like an out shape Lou Ferrigno with a mullet didn't have to do a whole lot of Hulking-Out during the show.

If you've never seen Fallout: the Police Experience, you're missing out. They are essentially the Police from the 80's. I told Dan their slogan should be "More CHA for Your Buck" I've already forgotten a lot of the setlist and the order of the songs but they closed with "Born in the 50s" which is another reason to see these guys because they play songs that didn't get played during the Reunion tour.

After the show we talked to Mike and Jimbo and caught up some more until they kicked us out of the joint. Anyway, I hope they come out East and do more shows. I highly recommend the State Theater in Falls Church, Virginia as it is similar to the Jefferson in that it is an old movie house converted to a concert venue. It is also conveniently located to several net nuts.
