Curved Air Live at BBC re-released with Stewart liner note

Postby njperry on 15 Nov 2012 16:59

The Curved Air Live at BBC is being remastered and re-released!!

Stewart, the drummer for Curved Air 1975-76, appears on 5 of the 13 tracks. Those tracks are from a 1976 concert. (The other tracks are from 1970 and 1971 before he joined the band.)

It has a "personal remembrance written by Copeland for the liner note"

U.S. release date of November 27, 2012.

The lead singer for the band, Sonja Kristina, is Stewart's ex-wife.

Sockii loves this album. I have never heard it and it was (until now) too expensive used, but am looking forward to getting it now.

The re-release doesn't appear on the Curved Air webpage.

Cleopatra Records is releasing it. Info can be found here:

I have purchased and listened to the CD.

The offical title is "AirWaves - Live At The BBC Remastered / Live At The Paris Theatre." It is the identical performances as on the "Live at the BBC" prior release.

Stewart talks in his few paragraphs of his liner notes about his excitement on being part of the band.

Unlike sockii, I am not a huge prog rock fan, so much of it was not what I cared for. I did enjoy the song co-written by Stewart, Stark Naked, which is an nice instrumental track.

I also really liked the version of Midnight Wire. I haven't listened to the studio version of Midnight Wire (from the 1975 album of the same name) for several years, but I don't recall liking it as much as I do this live version.
