The interview was realized just after the soundcheck of the Paris Bataclan's gig on the 11th of july. Same questions as usual about Stewart's grown up in Lebanon and the influence on his play, the birth of The Police during the punk explosion, question about Stewart's use of the double pedal since he saw it on the first time on Slipknot's drummer, use of splash cymbals and the use of the traditional grip ...
Interesting answer as the journalist ask him about the future of The Police after the reunion tour. Stewart answered that Sting had proposed new material but Stewart could not play them as Sting would like him to, since Sting was accustomed to direct other musicians since his solo career ...and to conclude that Sting and him couldn't play together concerning new material as they have different conceptions of music but paradoxally Stewart is still a big fan of his music.

Like I've said before, put them into a recording studio and let them emerge with black eyes broken bones and a fuck great album ... it could happen ....and I bet Andy would be the one breaking the bones

Wow! This is the first time I've read anything about the Police going into the studio to record new music during the reunion tour. Is this new information?

Sting was actually amenable to recording new Police songs? Holy shit. And they came out with nothing!!!!!!!!!!
UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's the point of working with a Stewart Copeland and an Andy Summers? They're not session hires. Even Sting has to bend and listen to these two giants who are both so talented and unique.

A smart guy like Sting didn't realize it's a Police song, not a Sting song? There's a difference. Anybody with ears and the ability to hear knows that.

I'll tell you one thing: If Miles Copeland had been involved they would have emerged with a full CD of new music.
