OT - This is awesome! My brother is a HERO!!

My brother, Eric, is a school teacher...very cool guy, his classroom at one time was decorated to look like the bridge on the Starship Enterprise.
Yesterday he and 7 adults and about 38 kids went on a field trip to Atlanta to go to the aquarium. Went on a local tour bus. About 75 miles outside of Savannah around 6AM, one of the adults called out to him for help up front.
He ran to the front of the bus and the driver had slumped over, unconscious, bus going 60 miles an hour, heading into the median, less than a mile from the Canoochee bridge. He managed to pull the driver's foot off the accelerator and climb on top of the driver, steer the bus back onto the highway, find the brake in the dark, and pull the bus over into the emergency lane, 150 feet from the river.
Talk about crappin' yourself.
Anyhow, all is well and I have the coolest brother EVER! :D :D :D
P.S. Driver ok, never regained consciousness. Suffering from of all things.....dehydration!
Drink your water, Nutters

Today, Uncle Eric will be THE MAN...

Wow.

Way to go, Eric. Hero indeed.

Sort of thing that you never hear of happening to someone you know. Not that I know the hero here but I know those who do know him.

And you can bet if he hadn't gotten the thing in tow and they had all crashed into the river, his name would be all over the friggin' news all over the globe. But he'd be among the victims and not survivors. We don't get too much positive news these days, as you well know.

Yay...that is awesome. Glad your brother was able to act quickly and turn that situation around. That would have been horrible otherwise.

Yay Eric. Great Job. <virtual handshake and pat on back and THANK YOU!!>

The fact that your brother is a teacher makes him a hero in my book already. The whole saving-everyone-on-the-bus thing is just icing on the cake.

Fantastic story.
