I have to write a paper on it... what are the best, and most realistic conspiracy theories you've heard?

I've seen this one bandied around a lot lately because it applies to what is going on now with the economic crisis: http://www.illuminati-news.com/kennedy-assassin.htm . It's intriguing but I don't necessarily buy it completely.

Not to diss smax, but don't take Oliver Stone's JFK as gospel, some artistic license seems to have been at play there. (need I mention his Doors movie.)

I actually used to write on this topic quite a bit back in "the day". Check out the book "Best Evidence" by David Lifton. Some of his theories are a tad out there, but all in all it's a pretty definitive book on the topic. It's a billion pages long, so be careful. It's got some great pictures, though. Really opened my eyes.

The mafia connection to the assassination was always the most interesting for me. That whole Oswald/Cuban thing too.

The "magic bullet" theory has been proved and disproved so many times, you don't know which way is up anymore.

Look on the grassy knoll!

Seriously, I love the JFK conspiracy theories so much. It's a very broad and interesting subject to research. I think your paper will be fun to write!

I loved this book:

This looks interesting too:

I have some books buried in a box somewhere if you need any

Oh... also check out the Warren Commission report findings and those who contest them and their inaccuracy.

And the inconsistencies in the 2 autopsies.

Ya know, I went to the Book Depository Museum when a bunch of us went to see The Police in Dallas back in '07. It was really pretty interesting.

Got nothing to add other than what others have already said, but do check out that museum, and the knoll itself, when in Dallas. It's pretty well completely unchanged. The city has left all the original structures in place that were there that day.

There was an excellent ABC News special hosted by Peter Jennings a few years ago about this topic. They used modern computer techniques to recreate the assassination - very interesting stuff. There is a theory that so many people believe in a conspiracy because they refuse to accept that someone so inconsequential as Oswald could singlehandedly take out the most powerful man in the world. There's clips of the show on youtube. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSBXW1-VGmM
