Right now watching the Bob Costas interviews from 1990. DAMN and a HALF. Best of all interviews as far as I'm concerned. Comprehensive - 3 parts. GREAT questions. TOTALLY captures the personality that makes me wish I could invite Stewart, his family, and everyone who knows him over for Thanksgiving dinner. Bob Costas pretty much ROCKS - really good questions - listen to the way he frames them; part 1 - not your usual "What's your favorite Police song?" Boy, if this doesn't make you salivate for the memoirs....

THIS is the Stewart that was being interviewed on the radio when I couldn't get in on time, when I wanted to talk about the opera when he was there promoting his SJC gig with Animal Logic. This just SO captures the honest, articulate, vernacular - i-yam-who-i-yam Stewart that I think is so cool.

If I knew how to post this, I would - but; well, that "gratuitous profanity" post - that's how I really feel - because I am a true technology moron.

Ha! Here's a little tip, MQ...don't ever let yourself get to feeling competitive about anything Police-related, because there's always - always - somebody more obsessive than you.
[Everyone reading please be aware I am saying this with love...there are certainly many bands, causes, endeavors less worthy of interest than The Police and Stewart, IMO...]
Anyway, sure, I'd love to have it, T. Jan, send me your address and I may be able to shoot you a care package one of these days.

Here is a prior thread about the interview with the you tube links.
http://www.stewartcopeland.net/forum/vi ... ght=costas
As I discuss there, I recall the interview both because it is great and I got horribly sick a few hours after seeing it in January 1990.

Whatever you prefer, Dive. Let me know. I have a Pro account, so it won't take me long. Otherwise you can use the links.

lol - definitely not competetive, just not on par. My sister loaded Message In A Box on my MP3 player and I discovered I didn't know most of the songs on there. I'm not really so much of a Police fan as a Stewart fan - just love his genuiness and how he was the only one in the videos who always seemed to have a WTF attitude and have fun. Then, of course, the fact that he moved on to so many more incredible things. Makes me think there's hope for all of us damned smart and determinedly unique types.
