OT: Loss of a pet

Very OT but wanted to share with my Nutter friends.

I had to have one of my cats, Bop, put to sleep today.

While he had some medical issues for years, he got very lethargic in the last few days. Took him to the vet and they found a growth near his bladder that probably was cancer but even if it wasn't, there wasn't anything to do for the poor guy. So we had to end the ninth life today. I know it was the best for him but very sad.

Bop was an old cat, having been born in 1992 and part of my family for almost as long. Through many moves, good times and bad, he has been there, being cute and demanding.

So I say goodbye to my companion Bop the cat, 1992-2009. May you rest in peace my friend.

[And as I about to submit this, another cat keeps pressing the keepboard as if to say remember the living cats. (We have two others and a dog.)

And Merlin the Siames says to Nutterdom: w (the key he pressed)]

Ohhhh. I am soooo sorry about your Cat ...Bop. How heartbreaking, but glad he is not suffering. Poor thing. It sucks when you have to put down a family pet. Huggs to you. NJP.

Hey, Nick, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It is never easy to say goodbye to a beloved pet, especially one who's been part of your family for so long. I think it is one of nature's cruel tricks that our four-legged companions just don't have life spans that match their humans.

I hope you and your family will take comfort in knowing you helped Bop avoid a lot of pain.

Hugs to you.

It is never easy saying goodbye to a pet who been apart of the family as long as Bop or any other time

I couldn't surive without my furry friends

One very large dog, skinny black cat and five lop eared rabbits

we had to put a dog (Taffy) down a few years for the very same reason and it was very hard to do however always will be remembered

Bop won't be suffering and was lucky to have such love and affections

as for the cheeky Merlin give him lots of hugs with a big w back at him

I'm very sorry for your loss.

It's always so sad when we have to make that awful decision for our animals but Bop obviously had a long and happy life with you and your family and would have known he was loved.

Big hugs to all of you.

I recently lost my Dog of ten years, to Kidney failure. I had her for just over half my life. I still keep dreaming that she's still alive, and at first when I would wake up I would look for her and then it would hit me, again that she was gone. I still have my other dog, her sister, so now I keep worrying about how long I will have her.

So sad about your kitty. We have one pet left, a kitty named Otis. He's an old man, too. When he leaves us, I don't think I will have any more pets, it hurts too much when they go.
Once again, very sorry.
