Myspace
A Place For Friends...as it were, and everything else on the globalised world.

Well we all should know what myspace is, but if you don't, go here http://www.myspace.com/ !!

Now that we all know what myspace is, do we all have one?
If you do, post your adresses, and we cand start networking! In essence, it is heaps more personal than the information we get about eachother in these forums. If you get a myspace, we can know eachother by photos aswell as our love of Stewart, or appreciation. :P If your still confused about what it is, talk to me.

I'm fairly sure this is unofficial, as he has never mentioned it...but you can even create your own groups on myspace and start recruiting even more fans. So it's a win-win situation! And believe me it's not just for us young people, even though age is an incy-wincy barrier dosen't make the slightest difference to friendship. I think it makes things more interesting. ^_^

If we want a preview of myspace, I'll post my own address if they're is enough interest, but you have to promise you'll all get your own and we can get to know each other better.

I would welcome an official Stewart Copeland profile, kept by informed sources, so i could include him as my friend (though in truth, i have already done so in a much more worthwhile space), and because the myspace link mentioned in the previous post, is ridden with errors amongst which one of the more obvious AND dis-effective may be the wrong link to his homepage!

I have a myspace account, but in all honestly I don't really use it except to keep track of a few bands & couple friends who do post there. I hate the interface and most people's pages are too visually painful for me to look at (and noisy with all the embedded music). Most of the time I end up just getting spam through that myspace account, via bands I don't know at all looking to promote themselves. I keep my real blog elsewhere. Plus, there's also http://www.tribe.net which I find has a much nicer look and feel to it.

Maybe I'm just too old for the "myspace" generation...!

I agree with you sockii,

In the end i'd ask myself (on a non-exclusive basis, that is), which is more intimate and serves its purpose of connecting in the interest of an artist - joining a forum like this, dedicated to the artist in whom i have an interest, or going on a "spam-polluted" site, where the underlying motiv of many so-called friends seems to be to promote themselves.

I guess, it's cool to use each for what they're worth, but must say i am glad about this space, providing heaps more info than myspace could.

i finally took the myspace plunge this week, only to find i had signed up for the wrong type of account. apparently there are separate kinds of accounts for "regular" users, bands, and filmmakers. i fall into all three categories theoretically, but i expressly went there to promote our band, and make no apologies for it.

i should clarify the only "promoting" i will be doing thru them is uploading songs so the curious can hear them. i'm using a more upscale site to host the movie trailer, which should be up within a week.

i understand that people do a great deal of "friend"/link swapping there, and if that's what people want to do, hey knock yourself out! in all honesty, it's highly unlikely that most people are going to get anywhere using it for pure promotion, although there has been the rare exception. i just want people to be able to hear our music for themselves and plan to honor any friend requests that come my way. i have one friend who seems to spend most of his free time gathering "friends" this way, but i suspect he's just wasting his time.

i'm all about free webhosting, and am glad sites like it are out there and known by the general populace. eventually we will have a dedicated web page that will be our real homebase, with links out to the music page on myspace and the movie page on withoutabox. using the sites in tandem will provide me with a low cost alternative to have at least a little bit of a web presence, which suits me fine.

but, since i signed up for the wrong kind of myspace account, i went ahead and deleted it. it'll return eventually!

as promised, it's back!

http://www.myspace.com/vfwing

we've got three songs up, plus the movie trailer. a few screenshots are in the pics section. all in one convenient location. i am growing to like the ease of use, the layout is only as cluttered as you want it to be. i may even start up my comic strip again!

i guess i'll be blogging there eventually, but i do dread the idea of getting a lot of unwanted spam. i'm just contacting people i already know for adds. i plan to keep most of the comments off the main page so it doesn't take so long to load, but there's few enough now to manage them. and i chose to not have any songs automatically play when you visit the page, so if you don't want to hear the music, you don't have to!

Well I have already bugged you guys with MY myspace thread but here it is.

www.myspace.com/russfeltis

The songs posted are from an old CD I did way back in 1997, so y'know try to be constructive with your scathing critic's (heh, heh).

At least under my PICS you can see me meeting Andy! The one good thing that has happened this year.

Cheers and Thanks to anyone who can listen to my tunes, I am working on some new stuff and I appreciate it.

Russ aka BongoBoy.

I know a couple that broke up over him having another girl in his top eight.

I think it's way over blown, my friends just love it though, and want me to aswell.... but it just dosen't seem apealing.

I already waste enough time on here. But if I wanted to talk to my friends, wouldn't I just call them, or text them? Why blog it?
