hi there!
stewart have played with taranta's here in sardinia... as giovanni already said.. in the middle of nowhere!
i live in north sardinia and the show was about in south-west of my island, just 3 hours trip to arrive at the venue (and the same at late night to come back home).
we're just two friends, growed up with police's music and stewart's drumming... i play bass, my friend play drums.. we was really excited! We’re going to see an icon!
We left home at 17:00 and we arrived in place around 20:00, first surprise... we arrived at Fluminimaggiore, a very little town between mountains and sea, and we start to search the venue, we ask to local people for “teatro antas” (antas theatre) but we know soon that it didn’t exist!
The person we ask, told us that should be “tempio di antas” (antas temple), maybe 10 km outside the town... the journey re-start....
After maybe 15th minutes of bends and no other cars, we found a crossroad and, oh yes, about 5 cars coming from opposite direction turning to the antas temple...
Finally we arrive!
No so many cars... we parking just outside the gate... on the air we car hear (live) one taranta’s song, we can hear stewart’s drumming!!
They performing the sound-check, we buy the tickets and enter in the venue...
Just in front of the stage, where stewart is playing!!
The place is unbelievable... an ancient temple, no light except the full moon (and the stage light of course), no cellphone working, only mountains around us....
The show begins 30 min late... but it was magic, stewart’s drumming was amazing... we can see stewart’s stuff live... we can really see the energy from his drum-sticks... when he start to play some 4/4 tempo, in the way he play it, in the way he play the hit-hat... i look to my friend and he look at me saying “HE’S STEWART COPELAND!!”
It was a great experience, really tiring, but great...
After the show we met stewart for some signs and for the photos... unfortunately i forgot to recharge the battery so the camera did not work  ... we have just the cellphone pics... thanks to stewart patience!! Stewart seems very tired, but he always said big “thank you, thank you”....
What can i said??
Thank you to you, you are great!
I hope to see you again in Sardinia, maybe more close to civilization :D , maybe with Gizmo next year!!

Yo! Maxx

Ps: as giovanni said, the show was filmed i’ve counted four movie cameras (well... five with mine  ), i really hope they’ll do a dvd!

You can find the pictures i’ve done just before my camera said “bye” :( here:

Extremely awesome!!!!

(Now for a tacky question: does Stew have a few different copies of that green shirt, or is it the same one...? He wore it to play Bonnaroo, he's wearing it in some of the Gizmo photos, now here...I'm starting to think it's the new blue polka-dotted shirt...!)

[note for our UK friends who can't buy 'Everyone Stares' yet: Stew mentions a certain blue shirt a few different times on the commentary track with Andy. I'm actually working on a longer review of the official DVD release now. I still can't believe they're only charging $13 for it. The DVD extras are outstanding.]
