So should I take Stew's advice?
I have done one CD on my own with a buddy playing lead guitar, (I play all the instruments and write and record it all in Pro Tools) years ago. As a drummer mainly, I am now faced with completing a second CD hopefully in the next 6 months to a year. Maybe I should just stand up there with my guitar and vocals?...I dunno, it ain't the same. I love the skins.
I know He's right, but I am one of those guys (older eh?) who likes a band, not just guys that come in and record and then a different guy plays live. I like a band, can't find dedicated guys anymore.
I use a lot of acoustic instruments so maybe I'll do some cafe' gigs. I played a couple gigs with my buddy with two acoustics guitars back in 1998 ...it was OK.
Anyway, just thinking out loud.
*I sent my first CD "Spiritual Mirror" to Stewart a while ago, I wonder if he ever got it?.*
The title Spiritual Mirror is in reference to finding that soul mate or...spititual mirror, some thought it was a religious album. I have to choose a better title next time.
Anyway my new tunes are coming along and I find it interesting because it's mainly a mixture of folk, bluegrass and reggae. So the banjo's and mandolins just ride on top of the electric guitars and drums...it's fun!!!
Thanks for listening....time to...
Get on the Mic!!!!
Thanks for the inspiration STEWART !!!

There is a Canadian site that has one of my CD,s.
www.newworldcds.com/old_site/homepage.htm
It's a big list of artists and if you scroll down the page you will come across
Russ Feltis - Spiritual Mirror - $5.00 Canadian.
I have never ordered a CD from them but that is the only place I have found it these days...it's an older CD from 1997.
***(an easy way is to google Russ Feltis and it shows up (newworldcds) click on secondhand CD's.*** scroll down to "F".
It may be too much trouble, but at least it's cheap.heh, heh.
Thanks for asking, soon I hope to have a web site where I can post some songs and stuff.
Cheers. :D

good luck in your ambitions, bongoboy. it would be great to hear a few words of encouragement from stewart, no doubt. hopefully he will get a chance to listen to it. the new stuff sounds interesting from your description, be sure to alert us when you get a few tunes online.
isn't taylor hawkins trying to sing and play drums at the same time? he doesn't want to wear one of those headset things, but it's really the way he ought to go. i had to use one of those earpiece/phone thingies the other day at work. at first i felt ridiculous, but i got over it quickly enough.
as soon as our movie's finished (all that's left is photoshopping out a few more logos and stinging 3 or 4 more events) i plan to send him a copy. it has a direct reference to a past persona that i'm hoping he'll get a kick out of if he gets a chance to see it.

Good Luck!
it's cool to send your work to someone you respect, it's like you want to talk to them on their level. Instead of just saying Wow I think your great, you can say look at this movie I made, or listen to my tunes.
It makes you feel like you are progressing in your craft.
Cheers and thanks for the kind words.

I don't know how many of you are signed up to myspace.com but I now have a few tunes up there. I just did this so I will add more and fix it up later.
Remember this is a CD I did way back in 1997 so don't be too disappointed, I am much better now. Honest!!! (heh, heh) Also tonight I hope to hand that CD to Andy himself, I hope.
and I named the CD "Spiritual Mirror" many people thought it was a religious album...it's not, (not that there is anything wrong with that!). I intended it to be like...a soulmate would be your spiritual mirror. Oh well.
I hope Stewart got his copy.
Here is the link.

Hope it works OK.
Thanks for any support. BongoBoy.

I just hear your song.
Well, I am not a music lady, just a listener, and for me sounds really nice. Is kind of progressive.
Chuicks!
Bravo!

Bongo - why assume that drumming and vocals are mutually exclusive? I know it's not easy because drumming is so physically demanding and (I always found) required vast concentration too. But it can be done. I say have your cake and eat it too if you can. If drums are what you love then there's no greater high than playing to the peak of your ability. I'll never forget playing live for the first time & the joy of getting an audience reaction. Pure opiate! It didn't hurt to be a chick, of course 'cause everybody notices that.
Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.
Good on ya keeping your dream alive.

Thanks for the kind support. Check "myspace" again because I will change up the songs every so often.
I guess I missed Grace at the Andy signing in Toronto, I was kinda spaced out by the whole thing...there he was, the guy who made me want to play guitar, who played with the guy who made me pick up drum sticks.
So awesome, I'm still freaked out. I usually do go and get autographs but handing Andy my CD and him saying "cool" was really a good feeling.
I always wanted to do that. I wish I had my new CD finished though.
Maybe I can hand my new CD to Stewart one day.
Cheers everyone.
