I don't think "Vivaldi" sucked, as you say !
"Vivaldi" is a masterpiece of progressive free jazz/rock music, and it's true that you have to have "experienced" ears to listen to this, if I may be allowed to say so !
I don't like habitual progressive rock bands like Marillion, Rush or others who had such a theatrical approach of their music....
But I like King Crimson a lot, for example. They had a more "noisy" and deconstructed way of playing, and sometimes it reminds me some of the present "noisy/post rock/math rock" bands I listen too.
I like when music isn't easy accessible, it requires more efforts of attention, and when you're able to reach this, it's fantastic !!
But, I'm also agree with you for "Backstreet Luv": it's more pleasent and easier to listen to !!!
