We are delighted to announce a fantastic ticket giveaway for current subscribers of the Stewartcopeland.net forum for The Police's final concert at New York's Madison Square Garden on August 7.
Courtesy of Stewart Copeland, we have a batch of tickets at a variety of price levels and locations throughout the venue to give away to lucky members for this historic show.
The tickets will be given away in a lottery, entry to which will be gained by correctly answering the following question:
Which Italian city and its Mayor gave Stewart the key of the city and an honorary citizenship?
Email your answer (write SAC FAN COMP in the object) to giovanni@stewartcopeland.net no later than midnight (ET) on Sunday, 20th July. You MUST include your name, address, contact phone number and nickname used on the forum in your email. Failure to do so will invalidate your entry.
All correct answers will be entered into the ticket lottery which will be drawn after midnight Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, July 20th with the results of the winning members who will be notified by no later than July 24th.
Because we have tickets in a variety of locations and at all price levels, tickets will be allocated on the basis of the order that the winners are drawn, with the earlier names drawn winning the more expensive tickets.
Please read the conditions of entry below:
1) Entry into this sweepstakes is open to current members of Stewartcopeland.net forum. The prize will be a single ticket for The Police concert on August 7.
2) Winners will be chosen at random from all the valid entries received before 11:59 PM EST on Sunday July 20th, 2008.
3) Only those members whose entries are chosen will be contacted via email by July 24th, 2008 with additional details including arrangements for ticket collection.
4) Members may enter only once. Duplicate entries will be discarded.
5) If you cannot attend the show you will be unable to transfer your ticket.
6) Legal photo identification (ID) must be presented for entry.
7) No cameras or recording devices are permitted in the venue.
8) Admission is subject to compliance with applicable laws, by-laws, regulations and stadium and/or arena rules.
9) In accordance with the rules, if required by venue, patron consents to a reasonable examination of his/her person and effects to ensure compliance.
10) By attending the concert, members simultaneously grant Stewartcopeland.net and ThePolice.com permission to photograph or film or record your attendance at the event and to use those images for any purpose in connection therewith.

This makes my doubt whether to participate or not. Having a free ticket could be a good reason to convince my wife and let me spend a fortune for a 2 day travel to NY. But If I win and end up not going, the ticket will be useless.
